Surely Ineos must have known about Onely, and the other great British talents coming through?

Their recruitment strategy is baffling. Caleb anyone?

Matthew Brennan & Joe Blackmore are talented youngsters…it’s almost as if they’re being advised against joining Ineos.

Ineos have no direct development squad prior to this year and it was never their strategy . So most of the junior riders were signed for Conti teams.

I’m going to really miss the ITV coverage and it’s very sad to see it go, and I’ve always enjoyed Gary Imlach’s presenting style and Ned Boulting’s commentary. Not sure I’ll be paying to watch it, in the future.

They just wait, watch and throw money at potential future greats… it kind of worked when Sky, but not anymore… others have equal funding (and more) and even if not, not enough to errode the loyalty to those that got them to the level to make them desirable.

Even if it did work, they pick up a quality rider, they ruin them by not having understood them and developed them.

Remco confirmed to Red Bull.

Be interesting to see what Roglic does next.

I haven’t watched pro cycling pretty much since Covid times. I hadn’t realised that ITV had lost out to TNT.
BSB went the same way :face_with_symbols_on_mouth:

Can’t imagine TNT sending a crew over to France? Assume it will be the pundit in front of a screen gravy train?

I went to a talk last year by Carlton Kirby, Eurosport’s main cyclin commentator. He said they used to be on site for comms until Covid when it was done from the Uk studio. They did audience research and found no one noticed any difference, so that’s how it’s done since then. They seem to have a couple of on-site reporters to interview the cyclists I think it was Hannah Walker and Matt Stephens.

TNT already have full coverage of the TdF - was broadcast this year. ITV has lost the highlights broadcast rights.

I thought ITV had lost everything, highlights and the full show?

I think people do notice, the just get used to it. Anyway, end of another era really.
SBS (Oz’ more diverse channel) used to show the TdF, there was a near riot when it to CH10 and then eventually behind paywall via Foxtel

ITV lost live coverage a year ago, then lost highlights now.

SBS show TdF free for anyone with a VPN.

Oh I see, I hadn’t caught up with that bit.

So SBS are showing the TdF again? That’s a swing back.

ITV had both live and highlights of the Tour up to and including this year. From next year they have neither

Do S4C have the TdF next year or was that tied in with ITV?

If they do you’ve got 11 months or so to smash the Duolingo.

That’s how I read it as well. Thought I was going mad!

I think highlights only will be free next year on Blaze TV channel. I’ll end up paying for TNT as I like all the other smaller races.. Although I think youtube has brief 5 min highlights, which is how I watch F1 now!

Strong squad of GT podium performers at RBH, Lipowitz, Remco, Roglic, Hindley, Martinez, Pellizzari but what’s the cohesion like? Looks like too many chiefs to me.
