Are UAE & Bahrain any better?

I can see why Yates binned it. Living out of a suitcase in blah hotels working your bolox off for what, to not see your loved ones 8 months a year.

start was in Bulgaria - we saw the 3rd stage rollout in Plovdiv

Would a €1m a year salary make that more palatable for you?

ETA he’s only ever “worked” as a cyclist, so unless he’s squirrelled away enough cash to never need to work again, he’ll probably reappear as a DS, driving a team car, on the same schedule as he was as a rider, but with less sleep and worse conditions

Probably get much more than that from riding the post-Tour crits in the green jersey though

Only they are just teams, not the whole sport. I don’t follow golf but the LIV tour seems to have ruined it , then collapsed.

F1 is bad enough with all the flat sandy identikit circuits.

nothing to see here, please move along

Although there’s a big difference from a private company and a federation (at least there should be)
UCI should run cycling not some family holding all the power to pick and choose who they want to compete based on how much arse kissing is done (or whatever else is involved)

You’d really trust the UCI to run it?

The WorldTour was kind of the UCI’s attempt to bring the races under their control.

Before that came in, a lot of the big teams didn’t go to all of the big races. The French teams wouldn’t race the Giro, for example

Of course, it was Albania last year. And I think that was what got the team’s backs up, two expensive non-Italian starts in a row

More than a business maybe, but whoever it is more needs to be done to compensate teams with riders scraping a living. I see the other day a Step 6 football team paying players 400 a week. Step 6 is basically county leagues, world tour teams pay as little as €35k , not a lot different!

Halfway through the first stage and I’m already sick of hearing the “Tour de France Femmes avec Zwift”

They’ve clearly been instructed they must use the full name at all times but I’m starting to wonder if there’s also a requirement to say it x number of times per hour.

Even better would be Greg Welch saying it.

I didn’t have this on my bingo card for the TdF Femmes:

Womens Tour of Britain has all 5 stages live on youtube this week… plus highlights on ITV.
Personally found TDF Femmes somewhat more exciting than the mens.

Me and Mrs FB are flag marshalling on Saturday’s stage 4 of the tour which finishes in Y Gelli (Hay on Wye).

Looking forward to this.

Friday’s Stage 3 starts 10km from me so I intend jumping on the route, stopping & watching them around the 40km point & cycling back over Llyn Aled & Brenig.
