I hope there is a lot of “Lactic Acid” comments, but normally that’s saved for short course commentary
I hope so too.
A few mentions of how they’re cycling at the wrong cadence.
eJC could learn a thing or two listening to Greg talking through the running gait of various athletes ![]()
. Every race is a school day.
As long as there are some Maurten Moves I’ll be happy
they would never get it that accurate, “The lactic acid is burning right now as they exit the energy lab, it could lead to cramping”
Be nice for Kat Matthews to have a good race
I think the match industry will get several plugs. Swan should sponsor them probably.
Anyone watching Challenge Barcelona? Brownlee leading a group on the bike.
Is it half distance?
Think it’s a weird mix, but can’t find the distance online now, but less than a half I seem to remember.
EDIT: Found it 1.5km swim / 60km bike / 16km run
Love the mix of split screen shot coverage. Brownlee at 60kph on the bike on one screen, old granny putting running shoes on in transition with a shoe horn. Did she beat Brownlee into T2?
YouTube just has the pictures but not the audio?
Seem to be interviews and transition chat going on but we just have to listen to the same commentator.
AB second on the run after 1k a few seconds down. Hopefully he finishes the run without incident.
ETA: AB now leading by 10s at 5k
The granny was an uber biker then?
![]()
They have sprint and aquathlon races going at the same time apparently, so guess she was in one of those.
The granny was an uber biker then?
One for the doping thread
Did you see all those age groupers leaving T1 just now!
That’s going to be one long pace line ![]()
Good race distance that, I’m sure AB will accept that after injury, did I read he’s in Majorca in a couple of weeks as well?
Yes, solid come back given he’s not long after surgery. Yes, he on start list for Majorca.
They said in commentary he is racing Mallorca next week.
Good result just back from surgery and so little racing for such a long time. His run form held together OK considering.
If she was an Uber Eats biker she’d definitely have been on an unrestricted e-bike

Just for info, later today (early evening uk time) is the Ho’ala Swim race in Kona over the IM world champs swim course. Many of the women racing next Sunday are swimming today (including Lucy, Taylor, Fenella, Ruth Astle, Anne Haug, Lottie Wilms and Rebecca Clarke). I didn’t see Daniela or Chelsea Sodaro on the tracker. India Lee is also entered - she’s been training with Ruth the past few weeks and will be doing an Ironman in a few weeks time.
They’ll no doubt be some quick men as well but Kona is all about the women this year.
Results will no doubt be on tri247 but if you have the rtrt.me app (it’s pretty much the same as the Ironman app but for other races) they’ll be on there.
