On for a 2:28 marathon ?!

Is this Colin C”s mate …?!?

I think that run could be called ‘doing a Brownlee’, smoke out of T2….slow down……kaboom!!..…DNF. Ouch, this is one of his go to races.

Has he blown up?

Welch is utterly clueless, all kinds of mistakes!

Thomas Rodriguez winning home turf.

Texas is still part of Mexico right?

Out of 70.3 St George.

Kat having a tough time out there. Slater looking strong in second.

EDIT: Kat still got time for a fist bump with an age grouper.

Apparently Rodriguez ran 1:13/1:21 for his 2:34 marathon. Jeeze, 1:13 used to be a grade A 70.3 run let alone off a IM Swim-bike. So a poorly paced marathon on full distance debut😳, and a 7:42.

Must be a Kona contender, Mexicans aren’t going to struggle in the heat.

No drafting, ok?

Isn’t the Texas course well.known for AG drafting? Like Barça.

Impressive time but I suspect he could have paced it better and avoided a pretty painful last 10k

Kudos for running that though :+1:

Smooth, easy running style too - this guy may be a star.

PS Think he got off the bike about 30 secs up on Lange, and outran Lange’s 2:35 - not many have done that.

How do you know he didn’t slow down 'cos he had it won and wanted to minimise stress for quicker recovery?

Maybe he was sandbagging, had the win in the bag and eased up, and will obliterate them all at Kona

He looked like he was feeling it a bit towards the end, but that’s understandable on your first actual full IM (according to the commentary).
