This is why AB would still get it for me even if Yee did win another gold. So dominant, feared, and moved the sport on.

Not sure Yee can claim to be as complete a triathlete. Not always front pack swim, strong on the bike for sure, but doesn’t boss the peleton like AB or even Louis did.
In a straight fight between AB in his prime and Yee, my money would be on AB. Yee can get there, but has a way to go.

Interesting race in Cozumel today.
Chevalier and Wurf both trying to wrap up KQ early bunthe looks of it.
But more interestingly is Martin Van Riel, fresh off his T100 success, is going to race his first IM. Be good to see how he goes.

I’m not sure. It’s his first ever and he’s clearly very talented over the 100k distance.
Probably a bit of an educated gamble I’d say, this late in the season.

Field has balanced out and he’s still got a minute on the chase train.
Looks like they’re either closing very gradually or leaving him out there - the run will tell us whether that five minute swim lead was a blessing or a curse.

Van Riel got caught at 103 miles, he was in the front group of 3, but by 111 miles he’s not in the top 6 and over 6 minutes have passed. At least that’s how I’m reading the tracker.
