Not pro-tri news but Vino came 5th in his AG at Nice today
He usually wins by Miles ?!
Didn’t he bike one min slower than ally brownlee at Kona one year as a 40 odd year old
The more cynical amongst us would say he’s gone clean !
Friend from work has it as 178 and 41.5 on his Strava (swim was a little over 3.8 according to his log)
That’s the badger
Honesty is always the best policy.
EDIT: someone on my strava has the bike at 177.8km and the run at 41.6km (swim BANG on at 3,808m)
Maybe GPS errors, eh?
Hmm, Sam Laidlow has it as 176.25 and 41.13, quite a difference for the bike…was recorded on a Wahoo BOLT.
That’s Lakesman-esque levels of “short”
Are you saying a BOLT isn’t good?
within accepted tolerances I reckon
No idea on the BOLT, I seem to recall the v1 having some accuracy issues…but never owned one. Comments here imply the same.
Oh yeah, Roth is definitely within the accepted levels of tolerance for triathlons.
For the bike, that’s totally dictated by where the water is and where a run course can be held, so 1-2km short isn’t that bad…but when it’s 1-2km short with two out and back sections, on closed roads, in a country with stereotypical efficiency, I always wonder why the cones weren’t put 400m further up the road
The same goes for the run
Although, then they don’t get the “fast” course moniker or the “WR Time set this weekend” headlines (because they allow proto shoes, too Which makes the choice to ban beer guts baffling)
Anyways, meh.
It’s a race, some people did a time.
Pretty blatent dunk by Mike Phillips
AB on start list for Switzerland, for what it’s worth
I never realised he was like 7ft tall
Needs a good roast dinner in him!
Apparently he lives in Andorra, there’s plenty of hills around there.
Alistair Brownlee now on Lake Placid start list, his last chance to NQ
He’s been on more IM start lists than Jan has had roast dinners!
The big lad was a veggie for years ?!
Think he’s back murdering small animals again now?
Lol.
Had a while as a vegan also
I wonder if he’s ever had a roast. It’s a pretty UK-centric dish isn’t it. Cant’ imagine they’re serving them up in Germany or Andorra. I guess Oz probably do them with the British history.
Vegan must be hard work for someone requiring lots of calories for long periods of time
