It’s times like this when I’m reminded of the words of Seneca in his writings in Epistulae Morales Ad Lucilium: “I f@cking hate wisdom teeth”.
You win the internet today with that!
A 2 hour 51 min walk up and down Skiddaw.
Due to our late arrival there was no Xmas day run up and down Lattrigg. I will try and do that next week.
Felt unfit and wheezy on the climb and my legs were like jelly on the descent. The illness and antibiotics are taking their toll as is the absence of alcohol.
Nice Whisky might sort that out… kill the plague.
Edit: Oh shit sorry, forgot the antibiotics.
When does the course end? There is always new year.
Where is the traditional TT Happy Christmas
picture? Or did I just miss it.
Woke up with a really sore achilles, which is strange as it wasnt sore at all during my last run(s). Bike only today… was going to do an easy 10mi. Migth try a 21:30 5km early next week but will only try that if I can fit it into training.

Similar happened to myself in the last 3-4 weeks before Manchester Marathon 2022. A nerve died in the wisdom tooth… they offered to take the tooth out at that appointment, I was like errr no!..
I had trained for 3 months for a marathon…
So asked if it calmed down after the Antibiotics and a while would it still need to be taken out and when…
A: within weeks or maybe years.
Still in place atm.
7 days plus 2 to get out of system.
I gave up this eve and slowly had 2 glasses of Barolo. Am awaiting my heart attack which is apparently imminent
Had 2 of mine out 30 years ago when I had med insurance. Wish I’d done the lot
Ejc, I won’t be responding further.
I can tell you from personal experience (it’s been quite the year) that once your heart goes life can get really tough. You are extremely tired. You can’t function once your resting heart rate is like (in my case) 80. Simple things become very difficult, including easy housework. So please take it seriously.
It also really does start by an immense feeling of dread, I don’t know if it was here or elsewhere that I posted at the time wondering if my heart was going to go on the blink. It’s a feeling like no other. Then, after testing, I got diagnosed with Atfib. I also have symptoms of heart failure, but the relevant blood test suggests otherwise. Though my doctor tells me that I am on the drugs that they would give me for that in any case.
For our difference ejc, it is very much worth taking your heart seriously. Else you might find your world becomes very small very fast as the simplest of things become difficult to impossible. Though obviously everyone is different. Though bear in mind that I also deal with constant chemo, year in and year out, which obviously muddles things a bit.
Ejc, your heart matters if you want a decent quality of life. I have to avoid stress at all costs, you might be wise to ease up on whatever your doctors thinks is causing your heart issues.
thank you for your concern Sloggers but I don’t have heart issues….
As ever my post flew clear over your head like a ufo in the night…
So, Keswick parjrun this morning. Couldn’t keep up with MrseJC and trailed home in 27:40. The cold air on my lungs makes winter running really tough. My slowest parjrun ever by about a week….
Met my old sparring partner Greg who finished top 30 and probably first very old boy.
What impresses me about the Keswick parjrun is the high number of women in the top 50. Always good runners here.
It’s a fast nice course and I think some of the local fell runners turn up for a hard session. Plenty of good runners over there.
I preferred it when it was a gravel track…
Im not too bad in cold air, its damp cold that really does me, although its cloudy here so likely damp air, but havent left the house yet to find out
I will see when watching West Ham lose again later.
Cold air means coughing for me after exercise and in the middle of the night
@explorerJC I think I’m in the 26min 5km range. BMI 30.5. 89.4kg. Started my journey to 21mins yesterday
See you at the start line in ‘27/‘28…
I hate to be the bearer of bad news, but it’s half past three in the afternoon. If you started yesterday, you’ve already been out there at least 15 hours ![]()
Arse - the lot of you
I was surprisingly 75kg after Lanza. I guess closer to 78 now. Losing 10 of that would be useful.
Well done for starting. Somehow I need to make rapid progress or I’ll be drinking Fosters this summer…and getting my butt kicked by you. Parjrun says my Keswick PB is 21:09
And lose they did too…
Yet another terrible starting lineup, and yet another game we could have won by a sackful, but cant shoot. Championship now, no way we survive
