Once he was discovered to be dishonest, it is only fair to put his other ideas up for scrutiny…

and lo and behold, another of his fantasies didn’t stand up…

You and I both agree that ideas are always up for scrutiny, I am certain.

So makes no difference to me.

Now someone is pretending to be Dr Inego San Milan and winding him up….

I love the ST thread on Hamburg, people giving the British Triathlete, who got hit, a load of shit because of his lack of empathy.

They love a pitchfork eh

Rightly getting called out for it though

And totally predictable for ST which is why I didn’t link it on TR

Adam’s right in that at least most of the posters have torn the victim blamers apart

I went back to the thread based on Matt’s post as I had not realised it had gone that way. It is a shame that the victim started but do agree that it’s not a view held by the majority.

I wish they’d stop calling a moto rider a ‘driver’ though (which i realise is hardly relevant  )

That thread has now morphed into a lynch Messick mob

I love the way the ST threads evolve

Hard to disagree

I listened to their interview with Messick (didn’t realise ST had a podcast), there is a really awkward bit where the interviewer suddenly changes from interviewer to consultant “I know a lot about riding on the motos, so maybe you should call me about that sometime” he says to the Ironman CEO.

Painfully hilarious. Not quite The Office quality, but sudden elements of David Brent for sure.

FWIW Messick behaves appropriately for a CEO across the interview in my opinion, as usual.

I refuse to believe this is real.

Discussing the weight of a gun to carry whilst riding to ward off bike jackers!!

“ I wouldn’t carry during a race obviously because it’s extra weight “
:flushed:

I love that the NRA has a review of guns to carry while running

I’m more laughing that it’s a new thread. Hasn’t it been covered before on there?

Yes it has. If I remember correctly, wasn’t it a thread discussing/asking who carries whilst cycling. Found the Lavender room thread

There’s a particularly head-scratching exchange on a thread about why people might not be taking up Kona / Nice WC slots right now.

https://forum.slowtwitch.com/forum/Slowtwitch_Forums_C1/Triathlon_Forum_F1/Slot_Allocation_IM_Austria_-_how_to_kill_a_myth!_P7964343/

Someone says that the cost of racing IM, particularly accomodation, is too high. Then the exchange goes like this:

Mark: You could always stealth-camp. I camped at IM Smegsville, here is a picture of my tent (insert pic of a dayglow tent by a tree with a bike and a massive flag on a pole). Good luck stealth camping at any event in North America though.

Dave: With respect Mark, that doesn’t look stealthy, it looks like an eye-sore

Mark: Did I say I stealth-camped? No! It was an official campsite. You are such an A-hole and what is wrong with this place.

:man_shrugging:

I wanted to chip in, something like “yesterday I ate a whole orange but good luck trying to eat an orange whole”. But thought better of it. They packing guns after all.
