Quality Slowtwitch/IMJ Threads

Investigation of cheating, fair enough,
Speculation of cheating in meaningful debate, fair enough,
Posting of proven cheating on social media and press, fair enough (although i write “proven” with some caution)
Meaningful discussion of outcome, fair enough
Hounding individual thereafter is senseless

unless they are key riders in the peleton, or Team Skyfall, or top athletes of course…

I pretty much agree with this. If you are going to go to the extent of cheating that it would seem this man did, then I would think you have to accept the potential you’re going to get found out. Especially if you are deliberately doing it to sneak AG world records (albeit unofficial ones as he never did it on a sanctioned course).

But some of the STers talking about reporting him to medical boards, etc, was outrageous.

It’s a shame, literally. I never knew him, but I do wish he’d just confessed, and sought counselling. But shame is what he apparently couldn’t face.

The truth really does set people free, no matter how painful.

EDIT
I assumed suicide when I posted the above, but there is no indication of the cause in the news articles.

It may seem so at first glance, but not really. Medical boards rightly expect a high standard of character when endorsing someone to deal with peoples medical issues, and to maintain public trust in the profession. I would only be surprised if they did not investigate, after the furore he created.

My 11-yr-old super-skinny girl gets through 1kg of new potatoes plus 300g green beans and some meat after a 2hr swim session, and is hungry a couple of hours later. No sign of worms either - believe me I’ve checked.

This one takes a while to become entertaining, but it gets there,
if you can stand the trolls advocating violence…

Wow that thread was only about 8 posts when I first saw it. I imagine it’s full of absolute tosh by now. Complete storm in a tea-cup.

I bet Weiss never even pushed the guy, it was just a clash of bodies, and he put his hand out.

… i made it to page 3. Can’t take it any more.

Was really hoping for either Weis or the AG’er to turn up on the thread.

I have a picture of the overcompensating telephone tough guys saying that would beat the shit of someone who insulted their wife. Tight t shirt, trucker cap. Probably called Chad.

I don’t anyone would think less of you if you turned up as the AGer…

That ‘rock’ what a Troll :joy:

Tempting as that is. Last thing I need in my life right now is a Twitch hunt heading my way with pitch forks and mock-incredulity

The German Trimag article in the OP says that Weiss reported the incident after he finished (presumably before the AGer did); so I’d be surprised if he was overly aggressive.

part-way through that thread it links to the time Weiss took part in a Q and A session:

probably summed up by this comment on page 1: "I don’t think there is enough popcorn in the world for how this thread is gonna progress… "
