I think you’re right. the old Transitions site is down, so I can’t look it up. I’ll do some digging but I think I’m wrong.

Close, it was Caden

Got a to get them dollars into the triathlon industry, and that means having American heroes.

But from what I have read, even though America is still a big triathlon market, its actually declining, growth needs to come from outside America

At Roth, I spoke an American guy and his wife over dinner, they said that the standard in Europe (I think mainly Germany) is way higher than the US, Americans are shocked when they come to Europe to race and go from being FOP in US races to struggling MOP in Europe

Oh yeah, that maybe so, but I suspect ST is marketing only for, or primarily for, the US demographic. I’m sure I’ve seen DE talk about his business strategy for the industry, and having a US Kona winner was top amongst those things.

Let us know how he gets on…

If IM do move the Wordl Champs and someone other than Jan, Lionel, Sam Long win it will all be about how they wouldn’t have won in Kona.

Because obviously Lionel / Sam Long would have won if it had been in Kona

Now we have Iden was getting a tow of group on the bike. ST’s obsession with the strongest cyclist (as they see it) being the best triathlete is hilarious.

Sam Long (new Lionel) better learn to swim faster, then he could get into the lead group. Simple

Everyone thought that, until Stadler turned up!

I don’t mean a really strong cyclist can’t win but that on ST they seem to value a strong cyclist more than a strong triathlete.

You mean they value a good North American athlete/YouTuber over a great athlete of any other nationality

I’m clearly an ST triathlete :grinning:

This one is very slowtwitch

US rider breaks very old US 40km TT record

Someone points out that it would have got them joint 10th in the UK nationals this year

But…but…traffic…

Bringing up an old post of mine but an update:

Anna Harding from TRC didn’t show up to Endure 24 (no surprise really) but the latest brainwave was to qualify for Boston at Berlin with a 3.30.

She’s had full support from Adidas, a psychologist, a nutritionist and a top level high performance physio and coach. Zero reasons not to perform. I’ve been following and would’ve eaten my hat if she’d gone sub 3.30, mainly because she whinges endlessly about how ‘tough’ things are.

Looks like she ran a 5.11. I don’t even know why I follow but like I say, this channel is like my IMJ.

TRC has a great female runner with Kate Carter, I just wish they’d show more of her.

end of rant.

5:11, that’s either a massive meltdown or a walk!

Yeah for sure. i think her best before that was 3.54

A woman local to me who I sometimes see out running did a 2:38 today at Berlin :open_mouth:
