Race Day Nutrition and Storage

It may not outperform, but it does have a higher calorific/carb content than all other equivalent products (except the SiS version).

Early report on the Maurten gels is positive. They’re like jelly rather than a gel. Bit surprising at first but go down nicely. Leave a “clean” mouth. No need to swill down etc.

Combined two of them (one every 12k) with the 320 mix pre-run. Would have been close to running 3hrs in training if I’d carried on a bit. Farthest ever training run and I still felt decent at the end :flushed: This stuff is game changing

Before i buy sme more Maurten, don’t suppose anyone has any voucher codes or anything they are aware of.

Cheapest i can get it currently is £43 at Sigma. Any advances?

Achilles Heel is where I got mine from. A 10% code for a first order if you register your email address

Turns out it’s not free delivery unless you spend over £60 - so that wipes out the saving.

Ah, right. Yeah, I bought gels too

Maybe if you become an Influencer, they will send you some product :upside_down_face:

I can’t for the life of me remember, but who sponsors the Oxygen Addict podcast?

:rofl::rofl:

My 'gram would have to get a lot more interesting than it is now then! Unless Maurten think they’ll sell product by people lookin at pics of my kids, or cats or other boring stuff i get up to.

I’ll totally hastag the f*ck out of them on strava, FB and the gram when i do my race though! haha

…i got a ‘free’ water bottle.

Yey

Silly question, but with things like Maurten and SiS Beta-Fuel, how much water do people drink in addition? Specifically for IM distance?

So, I’ve taken a look at their website.
No peer reviewed science backing it up…yet!

But, the result are amazing (most of them are also wearing Next% or 4%, too)

But, £3 for one gel? Really!!! :open_mouth:

There was an interesting article on Outside Online written by Alex Hutchinson that looked for any science ro back it up, including a couple of recent papers that have attempted to study Maurten. Basically it’s still unproven from a formal scientific standpoint, but anecdotal evidence does seem to be strong.

And yeah … it is ridiculously priced. (see comments on the Black Friday 2019 deals!!)

Found one. Helen Murray’s new podcast (after the split from Rooster) has a 20% off code for every purchase on komfuel.co.uk. They stock Maurten. Free shipping over £20. So a £43 box of 320 will come in at £34.40 delivered. I’ve confirmed it works…you put the discount code “insidetri” right at the final page.

ahh … too late!!

I’m going to busy making up my mega mix - a 5l tub of maurten 320 tomorrow!!! (that’s gonna be an expensive bottle of water!!! )

Yeah, presumed it would be too late for now. But seemed worth flagging for future ref.

Haha, yeah, that’s 10 sachets right?!

How early are you mixing it? They advise to consume within 24hrs from memory?
