I’m sort of doing it this year. Although I’m doing Sunday 18th - Thursday 22nd, due to other commitments.
Sunday 18th - 100km club run
Monday 19th - 60km off road solo
Tuesday 20th - 100km standard flat road solo
Wednesday 21st - Winter Solstice; 170km Gravel ride ![]()
40km of it is road, rest is gravel or canal towpaths.
Joining up all of the Derbyshire trails, ways, green lanes ![]()

should take 8hrs and be done in daylight ![]()
Thursday 22nd - 70km local solo
I’ve got 30th and 31st free, but don’t fancy doing 2 x 250km days ![]()

Yes. Me too. Which is why I go out at 7am and am back for 10:40 and ready to go out again by 11am.
Apart from the Solstice and the normal Sunday club run.

Doing that was one of the best sporting things I’ve done, I got a real sense of achievement afterwards and it kickstarted my 2021 campaign ![]()

I managed to get some long rides in as soon as the '20 challenge started when the weather was kinder, but you showed integrity by not Zwifting it.
I had some great sunrises particularly on Christmas day.
I’m out this year, my parents & MiL are visiting.

I’m 386km in so far from 2 outdoor rides and 3 Zwifts. The weather looks decent tomorrow so I should just about get it done with another long outdoor ride.
I’ve only managed about 50K because of this lurgy so won’t be anywhere near. I’ll be happy if I can scrape towards 150K!

Covid wiped me out before I started. I felt pretty tired after it or maybe just Christmas lazyness had set it! I had planned the PRL Full on Zwift today but I’ve revised it to a 90 min ride.

20th for me - felt hard work, then the following day I came down with coughing, aches, hot/cold temperature and a massive headache (from the coughing) - not felt right since.
I’m not feeling tip top today, but have 70-80km planned with some pals.
Same again tomorrow, if I feel okay.
Maybe 100km on Saturday if I can get up early enough.
2hr Gravel solo (45-50km?) on Sunday.

I “did” the challenge last year, but a week early, in just five days. First two days were way too fast, which wiped me out for the other three, I had to take a “recovery” day ![]()
The actual challenge of 500km in 8 days is quite simple, really - it’s only 62.5km per day, which you can get licked in 90 minutes indoors in a bot/pace group ![]()
The whole “indoors” thing has really taken the shine off it, for me ![]()
I’m going to fall short at about 430km. But still a good week with high swim and run in there as well. Possibly could have scraped it if I’d prioritised volume on the 24th rather than a hard session.
