Cav’s numbers were notoriously crap when he was at the BC academy, so I suspect he’s probably rubbish on Zwift
Yeah but zwift is the real race
Bought a cadence sensor (wahoo) and that has resolved the issue. I went on tonight (Tour of Fire and Ice) and the resistance was smooth throughout. I hate the Alpe, I hate the real one and this pretend one.
Interesting. This is the issue I’m having with my Direto since I changed the belt. Elite have been unable to resolve. My power meter has inbuilt cadence so I’ve only been seeing the data from that on screen, but the Direto reading itself for cadence is totally off when reviewed after dual recording. I did send the below image to Elite pointing this out, but maybe this does have something to do with it? Issue is in zwift, trainerroad, all circumstances.
Top image from when it was working well, bottom one from when it’s now pulsing the entire time
It sounds like you’ve had a really frustrating time with this.
On the laptop screen I didn’t see cadence but did on the phone app (or maybe the companian app I can’t remember) and saw numbers like 36 for cadence where as the elemnt bolt was reading something in the 70s or 80s. My problem was definitely zwift’s ‘reading’ of the cadence rather than the flux sending out very low cadence. I use the bolt to manage intervals and it has always worked well and I never had the issue with Sufferfest videos.
Having just bought my first smart trainer, I’ve signed up to Zwift. I did the 25km introductory ride in Watopia and I went on to do my 2nd ride today and ended up doing laps of Paris, which was quite good fun.
I seem to only have a very limited number of courses available at the moment. Do I unlock more courses as I use it more, or am I looking in the wrong place?
watopia every day + two guest worlds. they rotate. there is a hack or just set up a meetup in the companion app to ride anywhere.
Zwift insider is your friend for almost everything;
https://zwiftinsider.com/schedule/ - shows you what worlds are open when
https://zwiftinsider.com/routes/ - errr all the routes (drill down for more detail)
https://zwifthub.com/ for tracking all your routes and acheivements that you’ve done (if you get XP obsessed)
And what’s your zwift id so we can add (stalk) you?
…and make sure you select the Everest challenge before you do 10,000m elevation before realising your on the wrong one and getting dead annoyed that you couldve had the tron bike earlier!!!
I just checked and I’m 33 percent there. So all my rides, when I remember, will now be on alp or ventoux (dumb trainer). Keep. Racking the meters!
Anyone got any good Spotify play lists for a race? I’m starting one in 10 mins. Legs not feeling great, but we’ll see how it goes.
Youtube
Sub Focus and Wilkinson DJing from home
I’ve got the Emonda, is that for Everesting?
My plan says I need to get to 50,000m!! Is that for a Tron?
yep!
Didn’t have time to load YouTube to laptop, so found a sub focus playlist on Spotify.
That did the trick! Cheers.
I won’t be making a concerted effort for it. I’m surrounded by hills here and slow AF outdoors so use Zwift for flat and fast! Only ever been up the AdZ once.
do the badges to gain extra xp (usually same as what you get from the distance completed). and I think you get extra xp through banners on a tt bike, but its quicker just to draft others
You want to get the Zwift Companion app on your phone too
Zwift ftp on Spotify has some of the classics for self flagelation… Eye of the Tiger etc
I did 30 minutes of Yorkshire this morning before riding to work. I really enjoyed it, despite it probably not being the ideal course for a 95kg rider
I hit a top speed of 85km/h on one of the descents and hit 809W on the sprint
Zwift detected an increase in my FTP from 296W to 304W, which based on the stuff I’ve done on the Wattbike still sounds a bit low. The 3 rides I’ve done to date have been solid but not massively hard.
