TCS London Marathon 2025

Ah, I seem to recall you had to use the form in the back of a magazine only available in select sports shops…those were the days :stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye:

You only bought it for the articles, right?

You don’t. I am GFA again and not in any RC Club

You do for Champs, but not gfa

I’m not even sure why I bothered looking, I don’t think GFA looms large on my horizon!

Anyone else in on the 23rd?

Green start wave 2 for me.

Mini heatwave in the forecast next week, so there should be some fun with the masses flapping about the extreme heat…

I’m in red wave 7.

@Paul posted on 2023 races that he is too.

Expecting something ridiculous like sub 2:50 off you with your training, and nearer to 2:40 :muscle:

I might be in the Chandos or the Porterhouse after spectating

I expect most of you will be finished, showered, fed and relaxing by the time I’m done. Having to manage my expectations a bit.

Bloody heatwave! Don’t tell me that @TROSaracen - It’s not been above 8 degrees in Glasgow since September…

I’m quite looking forward to it now. My prep has been so stop/start with issues on one leg or the other that I’ve really no expectations at all, so going to just try and enjoy it and the time is the time. First one, so might as well set a target I can beat by a good amount next time right

Think something around 4:20-4:30 is still doable, albeit slower than I was hoping to do 6 months ago when I felt sub 4 was on the cards, but no pressure.

Yellow wave 2 for me. Hoping for under 3:15 but not sure how far under. I’m prepared for a tough day out that’s for sure. If I could get 3:09 that’d beat my PB from 11 years ago. Maybe aim for that if conditions are good….

Very similar aims to me @funkin 3:15 target with 3:10 as a stretch/perfect day.

Yellow wave - what’s that?!

I’m thinking it’s another name for a chunder or a technicolour yawn?

Formerly Red Fast GFA
They have spread the Fast GFA across different starts since last year.

Thanks. I did wonder what it was to be honest. Last time I ran London (as a fast good for age in 2013) I was in a small start area I believe where the yellow start area is on the map for this year (so that would have been the red fast GFA).

This year I’m running via a running club ballot place but put an estimated time of 3:15 (or maybe 3:14) down on my entry - maybe fast-ish club entries get put in with the previously qualified GFA runners…

Doesn’t the yellow wave refer to the portaloos before the race?
