Enjoy the experience, especially in London for your first marathon. You’ll (hopefully) love it.
Eight hour door to door trip today for 60 seconds collecting my number at Excel. After collecting the number I walked briskly through the expo just to stretch my legs!
Trains up to London (from the south coast) were cancelled mid journey and I had to catch a one hour bus detour so this added to the times. All due to a person/train incident near Gatwick. Poor man/woman and their family (and everyone else directly affected). Very sad.
Just noticed, shouldn’t there be a 2023 thread or am I messing things up replying to an old thread……
I thought they’d started posting them or was that just while they were trying to avoid lots of people mingling?
Others are using it, maybe poet or someone can rename it?
Confirmed for the Chandos 1:30pm - 2:50pm.
Should be one or two athletes in whites vests with me. Will try not to wear Ironman gear, but…I don’t have a tritalk hat.
The expo is too good a money making exercise for them not to restart it now that Covid is over
This is what annoys me about it. Brighton marathon is the same (well, this year they did post numbers out this year but that is probably due to the organisers going bust and London Marathon Events stepping in at the last minute to run the event). I’m sure it’ll be back to normal next year.
I’d happily pay 5 or 10 quid for them to post the number to me special delivery or similar.
It’ll be interesting to see what does happen. Entry fees for London next year are £69! I’m sure the main pull for sponsors is the way they force us through the expo but I doubt they get any real benefit from it. The main sponsors aren’t even sellers of goods - aside from the obvious New Balance.
Manchester charges the same for entry but post out numbers.
What time for Macca then? I reckon he’s still got it
Hard to say, depends on his training I guess. He does seem to live the high life these days. Always flying 1st ass around the world and out at fancy places etc from his insta!
Who let that twat into the country?
Nowhere to hide in the marathon. Can’t have a ‘mechanical’ when things dont go your way
bet he never went through the ballet system
Recon 2:45
That would be nice to see. I have no idea, and no recent data points to base a guess on.
Guess it depends how far he let things slip & how hard he has trained to get back? Looks as if has been on a run training camp in Rwanda in March though, that suggests quite serious perhaps.
number from thin air, 2h52
I doubt he’d turn up at something like this and not be serious. Chrissie Wellington is doing it too - but part of a team pushing a wheelchair. I think that’s the only reason he’s brave enough to take the same start line as her.
I reckon I’d have a cracking chance through ballet
Same here, I think he’s in the 2:40 range.
