Bastard!

Hell of a finish, carrying so much speed

Fell asleep on the sofa with just a few kms to go, woke up to the post-finish roar! 🤦🏻😅

Beautiful finish.

How did Ewan get through that gap between Sagan and the barriers? Superb sprinting.

It looked like a very narrow run-in today. Not much room for lead out riders pealing off and others moving up.

I thought exactly the same in real time, on all accounts!

Luckily there were no lead outs left! :joy:

Me too, have Nizzolo in the team too so a good day all round. Just hope Yates lives up to his hype today, loons to be on good form.

Ooh Benoot, that was a close one!!

Too many yellow jumpers in the tour this year, was just trying to work out how EF got the lead but I’m guessing it’s the Swedish champion

Bit soporific until the last k. The pace was just too high for anyone to attack off.

All a bit of an anti-climax really…

Yes. It’s terribly dull unless it’s Sky doing it and a Brit might win

I’m an Alaphillipe fanboy, I really hope he crushes the yellow train. Aside from actually having some panache and va va voom there was a stage where he waited for … (fill in the blanks. I think it was one of the Yates, in the TDF, but I have to be honest I can’t really remember the details) after they had a problem descending with him in a breakaway. That showed character that I like to support.

edit. I think Yates crashed in 2018, and Alaphillipe waited until he was definitely not getting back on at full pace before pushing on.

Watching it with the sound off while on a call, I was trying to work out what T-Mobile were doing at the front!!! (I couldn’t think of any other teams riding in hot pink  )

Ullrich finally got the better of Armstrong

Yep, not only huge amounts of natural ability and skill, but a gentleman with it. What’s not to love! He seems to me like a natural successor to the tour de force, and fan’s favourite that was Tommy Voeckler.

His finish line interview when he won on Sunday was amazing to watch. The emotion he shows at winning and dedicating it to his recently passed father. Heart on sleeve, great rider, what’s not to like, unless there’s a brit in with a chance…
