Weighed myself after breakfast and was still 1kg lighter than I have been. Right direction, 7 weeks to mara and want to lost another 1.5kg which is achievable.
Itās also Cake Season in our household (three birthdays in August) so think Iām doing well.
Time for me to get on this weight loss. Iāve been booze free for 20 days and disappointed that hasnāt translated to any kgs lost. Iām doing 90 days booze free.
Now to start cutting the crap from my diet.
18st 8lbs. Time to get back down to my target weight of 15.
103.1kg again this week. 2 Tris this weekend, not much I can do about it before then so enjoy Sunday night (if Iāve survived) then on the wagon for a few months before Christmas. See if I can get in a better place before the year end rather than starting January over weight like every other year.
My wife is trying to convince me to go Vegan for 3 months after the season finished. If I do I suspect weight will fall off (but not sure what it will do to my motivation)
The off season is a great time to recover from the demands of the racing season and for many endurance types that means getting a bit more testosterone production going on with rest and a good diet, maybe even putting back on a bit of weight. Not sure that going vegan would be an optimal strategy, maybe sneak in a bit of quality red meat a couple of times a week whilst the wife isnāt watching. Joe Beerās recent podcast (July episode 169) is an interesting listen in this regard.
Or health.
There is a nutritionialist on Twitter I follow who is less than impressed with a vegan diet. Fine if you love animals, but b12, iron , choline levels are all likely to suffer as its nigh in impossible to get those from plant based diets.
The Vegan council of GB even say on their website that you might need to consider iron and b12 supplements. If thatās not admitting that the diet is lacking then I dont know what is.
Iād be more worried about the nuclear bomb levels of flatulence it would almost definitely bring about.
I can understand going veggie for a while, we quite often have vegetarian meals but really canāt understand why you would suck all the joy out of life to go full vegan?
My daughter is 11. She is an animal lover and announced the other day she wanted to try being a began. I pointed out all the things she wouldnāt be able to eat and a her face fell. She didnāt do it in the end
Two vegetarian daughters and a vegan wifeā¦have to say Iād lose weight on their diets. Iād be f***ing miserable though.
I went veggie for lent for environmental reasons this year other than occasional restaurant meals not being willing to spend money for one bad option. Found it very easy, made realise home meals are very veg heavy anyway so only had few occasions of trying meat replacement versions like quorn and I didnāt mind them. Didnāt notice any effect on weight, training, happiness etc, and easy to maintain protein intake.
Vegan is a whole other level though, I donāt see how it can be work optimally with heavy training without a lot of supplements.
75.5 post long run (but also after eating and drinking after the run) must be doing something right. Nearly at my target of 75kg before 8th October mara.
while my diet isnāt that bad, I could for sure do better. Biggest change I could make to lose a bit of weight would be to kick the booze but not sure that I am that motivated to lose another few kgās
