The 2019 weigh-in thread

Thinking about a Weight Loss diet today. NHS app. 1900kcal target. I can’t stand calorie counting though, will have to go back to MFP which has never worked until now. I think I’ll exclude activity calories, I’m not in hard training anyway.

Now’s the time, 12 weeks until Christmas! (Ish)

Nice to hear your back :ok_hand:t4:
Good work on dropping some weight and doing some regular exercise.

And failed day #1. Consumed 2400 instead of 1900, although I did run and bike a bit.

Wheezy, JaRok2300 & Poet – Thanks. :sunglasses:

I hope to keep plugging away now until I finally drop below 12 stone and then see what happens from there.

Head over to the Car Thread in Off Topic for another excuse for my lack of training these last few years.

Cheers, Paul.

Horror day incoming. I’ve climbed into the pizzas, ice cream and general junk since IM Wales. A planned 3 week indulgence, and I’ve filled my boots huge.

Monday 7 Oct is the time to weigh in, assess the damage and start to get a grip. Interested to see just how much weight this gluttony has put on.

I’ll be back with the news Monday, and joining this thread thereafter…

Day #4, failed everyday so far.

Got some advice from a successful dieter: “Just get used to feeling hungry all the time.”

And don’t eat. That’s the tricky bit.

I’ve heard that ‘Enjoy being hungry’, ‘hungry is healthy’ etc being similar.

One that resonated with me was trying to differentiate real hunger and your body tricking you into thinking you’re hungry because you’re bored/it’s mealtime/you’re stressed/you fancy a cake.

If it’s the latter, ignore. The theory is that most of us never get to the real hunger stage at all, and it was suggested that you have a fasting weekend to remind yourself what it feels like and the difference between that and what you feel at 11am when you’re bored at work.

It made me think and helped say no a few times (but not all the time).

I tend to eat/graze a lot more at work…when stuck at a desk. Literally when I’ve ridden-in, the fest starts after my shower and I hit the PC :yum:

2lbs dropped this week.
Mainly brine (no more eating out/processed food)
Some of that will also be sweat.
Felt a bit peaky on today’s easy ride…

97.8kg - no change this week.
Monday - Thursday were OK but weekend didn’t go so well. Ended up almost exactly on MFP figure on average for the week supporting my theory that it’s too generous and I need to be well under it to make any progress.

72.1kg. +1.5kg since IM Wales. I’ll take that, feared 73.xx.

3kg change for me !!! Shame that’s 3kg heavier :upside_down_face:

i actually weighed myself last week and was suprised that i wasn’t as heavy as i thought. Floating just under 73, which is fine. Probably don’t want to lose too much going into winter ultra season to be honest, so maybe a kg or two and that’ll be a good race weight.

Haven’t weighed myself since before Hamburg. Come to think of it, my TT bike is still in the bike box :face_with_hand_over_mouth:

I am same weight as Roth and Wales. That is what a bug straight after an IM does. Got a beach holiday in 2 weeks so decided I may as well stay at this weight for another few weeks then eat and drink without any concern on holiday.

Question for those more knowledgeable than me on metabolism, weight loss/gain etc.
I’m guessing there is a limit to how many calories your body can take in on a specific day (and lay down as fat) so how much damage does a cheat day do and how far can you go?
E.g. If I’m 500 calories in deficit for 6 days but 3000 over on the 7th will I remain at the same weight or will you have lost weight over the 6 days and not be able to take in the extra 3000 all in one go? Or further still, 1000 calories under for 6 days and 6000 over on the 7th etc etc…

Missed counting all week but down to 80.6kg today

After a few weeks of dissertatin debauchery, and not wanting to go near to the scales, today’s score on the door, 68.4 so quite pleased with that.

Now off the shit food coffee and alcohol for a few days for a break, not so pleased with that!
