Ha, well spotted! I was prevaricating telling myself that I would be fine by July (and for the 50 mile ultra that nearly passes the house) start of May, not to mention the 10k swim June.
But sadly, you are spot on, I will have a chat with me old mate Mark the Tri X organiser. Also looking at cancelling (postponing) the 50 SUWay ultra. I hate having to Cancel/defer y’know.
Have to say tho, I have come out of this much much stronger, finally took me 56 years to get diet willpower, and also my core and strength (and flexi ha!) will be awesome by the time I am fit again… or at least take me back to pre injury days once I have the hernia op after post op rest.
I’m doing 1 swim a week, just nice slow lazy freestyle, about 2500m, but probably shouldn’t. Just started doing odd 1/2 hour walk from back of house, feel I have to get the heart trying to move faster.
What doesn’t kill you…!
Well done in the diet thing…
I’d sack it all and add to the obesity figures…!
Strong mind
Cheeky mid week weigh in as expecting sub 70 is close and…69.87kg this morning. Feeling quite pleased with myself to be honest, found it quite difficult what with injury and illness but smashed it.
Can’t wait to get out running and feel the benefit!
I know exactly what you mean, and feel your pain, as it were.
Surely with weighing lighter we are going to fly once recovered.
79.3kg 19.4%BF yesterday evening ![]()
125.4kg. Very slow progress for me. Still down 6 and a bit kg from the start of the year but need ti speed it up.
Got a new battery for the scales.
73.5kg for me. Seems about right. Don’t really want to get any heavier than that, but I know I can lose a few extra kgs with an increase in training and being sensible on the diet. That can wait until the summer though.
Down to 70.4kg after a week in the Arctic Circle for the Arctic Ice Ultra despite having been munching like pac-man all week since return
97.3 kg - Fck, fckety, fck, fck - I seriously need to give my head a wobble. Training’s been back on track for a couple of weeks since being ill but I’m still eating loads of sh1t and my weight’s virtually back to where I started in January.
Ps. Still haven’t had a drink this year which is doubly galling as it’s making no difference.
I know these things aren’t supposed to have long term benefits, but I did dry January, then sugar free (sweets/biscuits/cake) February, and I seem to have a much more balanced diet now.
The alcohol abstinence seemed to have no impact on my health, but the sugar free did. Maybe just appearances, and just my experience obvs.
The other thing is that as we’re hitting spring our bodies should be less in conservation mode.
Brock, is that you?
Bad week for me. Boozy brunch with friends last Sunday after the HM started it off, and it just spiralled.
Busy at work meant junk food eating.
Boss’s last week added to the above, but also 3 boxes of Krispy Kreme’s in and around our desks, plus one of the most alcohol fuelled leaving drinks/dinners I can recall in a long time (google location tracking tells me I walked half the way home, and my gf found me asleep in the hallway).
It was then her birthday this weekend, and I was taking her out for a lovely M* meal Friday night (complete with stinking hangover from the night before … oops) and then the weekend was full of further food and drink indulgence with her family.
Result is roughly +3kg from where I was in the week leading up to the Big Half. Bollocks!
Sounds like a bloody brilliant week to me!
Haha, true. “Bad” was in the context of its impact on my weight. Was certainly fun! It’s just annoying how long it takes to see some persistent drops in weight, when compared to how quickly you can undo all that work!
I had a 24 hour blow out at the weekend but it was my birthday so I thought why not. Chocolate, pastries and red wine never tasted so good…back on the low carb, high protein routine today.
I could murder a Terry’s chocolate orange though.
71.6. Down 0.6 in 2 weeks, some discipline returning. Slow and steady does it.
68.9kg.
71… for the last two weeks.
Raced well on Sunday… first geriatric over the line …
Hope to be lighter in July ?!
74.7kg, down 400g from last week which is discounted to 300g after the massive 100g weight gain last week. Overall 4.5kg off so far.
Noticeable in the exciting world of parkrun where I got the highest WAVA rating this week, take that Mr Birchfield Harrier who was first over the line!
