I remember him saying that (strange as it sounds) due to the nature of the guests it was actually a respectful place in the main. I guess the usual types of spice and skag taking scum are not in a place like that and that if you are sharing a hotel floor with some of the countries most dangerous people then you would try your best to be respectful to each other.

I think MarkieR was working at the Nissan factory in Sunderland for most of the time he was posting on TT1.0. He mentioned the army and Nissan quite a bit, but I don’t recall him talking about the prisons on here

He was at Nissan after HMPS, which im guessing he went into after the Army. He was based at Woolwich (near me) during his Army days, hence getting chatting to him a bit about how lovely the area was (still is shit even though they built a load of overpriced crappy flats on the riverfront).
He definitely mellowed in his later days on TT, at least it seemed like it. Back in the mid-late 00’s he was always out for an argument, even saying black is white just for a bite.

I can be a twat on some of my boxing sites as some of the usernames are paid trolls or just really really messed up angry people.
Switching from there to here and back again is like going to another universe at times … you go from I’m literally going to kill your dad and sh@g your mum to good luck in your next race and look at all this expensive carbon.

But looking back at the year before I left there were “ several “ incidents that were taken no further due to my years in service and “ he’s a nice guy” status. If I had been a new starter I wouldn’t have been afforded the same privileges and could have been in deep shit.

I’m pretty sure that would apply to a few of us. Certainly me, my son’s favourite phrase at the moment seems to be “you’re going to hell” whenever I comment on anything I see on the TV or out and about.
