Unless it’s a question about SUPs ![]()
Or tubeless tyres…
or involves photos of ![]()
or about yoghurt apparently!
![]()
There are many things that pass me by, the yoghurt thing being one of them.
I still don’t know why most people changed their avatar ![]()
The yoghurt started as a pi$$ taking of the company that i work for.
The avatars i think were as a result of Gordon Ramsey making some changes behind the scenes, that set everyone off on a random avatar rampage!
Cough, too many youngsters on this thread ![]()
Maybe they’re bored ![]()

It’s like looking into the future Jeff. Call it research.
Getting this thread back on track!
Is it just me or anyone else seemingly turning into their father or other elderly male?
I’ve noticed in recent times that I’ll walk around with my hands behind my back lightly clasped! What am I becoming ![]()
I make various ‘ooh and ahhs’ getting out of bed ![]()
Call it senility but by the time I read as far as this I’d forgotten which thread I was in ![]()
@Mungo2 – Sorry for the delay in replying…
Following the review/report, is there now an option for early/medical retirement?
One of my mates was stuck on night shifts for years.
(Despite his requests/their promises to switch him to days.)
Had a stroke in his 50s, which he thankfully fully recovered from.
But his union ensured his employer took a large chunk of the blame.
(For not following their own rules about avoiding prolonged night shifts.)
He was happy to take a full pension early and has a more relaxed life now. ![]()
Whatever happens, really hope things work out well for you in the end.
Take care, Paul. ![]()
@TROSaracen – I met Dave & Susannah many times IRL. ![]()
There was a TT1.0 training camp weekend, run by @Younggun & @redbiker.
I’m sure it was @Spike whose photo looked like he was jumping while running.
(His feet were so far off the ground between strides.)
Which resulted in the ”I’m a Gazelle!” catch phrase.
@jeffb - Royalty?

Haha, yeah that’s the walk
sadly or happily that’s where the similarities end ![]()
The report is so “ bad” that’s probably the only option open to the service being honest, probably helps my case for a pay out but it was a very hard read.
The last report in particular sounds like it’s describing Hannibal Lector.
I have my Farm meeting in early sept the chances of being a Prison officer after that are slim at best. The Guv is a decent guy but he probably has no other option, if he let me back to work and I did something “ dangerous” they would use the report against him.
It really is quite bad.
It’s taken 10 weeks or so to finally destress which is testament to just we’re I was mentally.
Anyway same as my training …. Onwards.
Thanks for the mail, had several and private messages too. It’s really helped for sure
I must have missed something further up. I know one of the Dads who used to work at a Young Offenders Institute (or whatever they’re called). He ended-up leaving after a few years as it was really affecting him; the violence, hatred, bile and the sad stories of kids who just never had a chance in life due to parenting. He ended-up going into a counselling role somewhere else. This was still in his 30s!
I’m currently having counselling 1 hour per week by phone.
4 sessions done, young girl, Lisa , very nice and it’s really really helping, developed a bit of a bond with her.
She has talked to 11 prison officers in the last 2 years, all ages, none of them went back.
Coppers, firemen, ambulance etc have a much higher retention figure after long term sick, all difficult jobs, your mate will have probably worked at Feltham or Aylesbury both hell holes
No, the place just outside Bristol.
Ashfield ? Male sex offenders I think.
Easier than the two I mentioned but there all pretty awful these days
when I was a youngster my mates brother ended up in there on remand. He was a proper street urchin, tough as hell. He was critical in hospital within a week of being on remand, attacked by his “room mate” overnight
