The over 50's

I was surprised to see that Victoria Coren Mitchell has just had a baby aged 51 :flushed:

I know it’s not uncommon for men to become fathers at that age, but that seems old to become a mum :man_shrugging:

I feel this is going to be way harder than 40.

Basically you’re DEFINITELY over halfway, and you better start making life count, because 70 will be here in a jiffy.

only if you do Bologna too often

this is what office for national statistics says:

a baby born today in Western Europe is estimated to have something like a 1 in 3 chance of reaching 100.

I’m going for it, in fact it’s going to be my A goal for 2073. Will post back in due course… :old_man:

my gran made it to 99 and she wasn’t even an Ironman, so I’m quite confident with these genes. She was away with the fairies by thern through, but I could live with that and there will probably be a pill for that by then. Do we need a new 100+ thread ?

Does the baby have to be born in 2073 or just conceived, 'cos you might find it easier to make it your A goal for 2072 if it’s important that they’re born in that year.

I also think given your age at the time, you might need to be pretty rich and famous to find an appropriate woman.

Sorry for dissing your goals, just trying to help with the practicalities, Good Luck!

Cracking wee trail race last night hooning around with headtorches on the Llandegla forest singletrack, fire breaks & genuinely just dodging trees at times.

I was fortunate that it’s a busy weekend for better runners so managed to nick a win for the old guys.

Excellent, well done mate :+1:

There is a 21km race a week today in Winchester, its emphasis is on fun/neon/party running. It’s £34 to run where I train but I could with a ‘lift’ so will probably enter.
It starts at 5.30, so not exactly the dead of night

Show me, without telling me, how little physical exercise you’ve been doing over the last 6 weeks. :no_good_man:t2::man_facepalming:t2:

Both my grandmothers made their 90s; Grandads went at 62 (heart attack) & 65 (throat cancer) :pensive: But the men in that generation lived hard unhealthy lives, and were often smokers.

Having said that I’m hoping I won’t get shot off a German soldier :grimacing:
