Pah. With today’s commute my CTL hit 5. Yep 5. Read it and weep.
Took advantage of my day off to do a run-swim-run this morning, and steady bike this afternoon. Almost it’s a shame its recovery week and couldn’t make more use of the time. Although hard to do tap out Z1 into those headwinds!
Today is rest day
Snap!
Same here. I still commute by bike and really enjoy the ride home on Fridays knowing that’s it for the day, no session to do when I get back.
Reminds me of a Blur lyric.
5, for the day? That’s immense
My CTL, according to Runalyze, is 40. That’s over a 42 day rolling period (don’t know if that’s what TP uses as well?).
Boom
TP uses 42 days exponential moving average. So recent TSS is weighted higher than older TSS
8km @5:18
Now up to 47 … trending upwards. Watch out motherzzzz
My Garmin reckons I can do a 19:30 5k and my vo2 is back at 54
Not sure how though
52 and a 21.01 for me! haha
I hope i’ve not slipped that far, even if i’m ill!
The Garmin race predictor is a bag of shit. I ran a flat out 5k, it then immediately “predicted” I could run one 4 minutes faster. No bruv I literately just ran as fast as I could
For about a year, mine has predicted a fastest marathon time of 03:00:01
FFS… even my watch is trolling me.
I’ve had the opposite!! Ran a 5km parkrun and then Garmin predicts my max effort a couple of mins slower!!
My predicted times are always ridiculous; at one point it was showing a 2:33 marathon. At the moment, I should be able to knock out a 16:33 5k apparently.
My 5k isn’t actually far off, it’s only about 3 weeks since I did a 19:15.
Problem for me is that it doesn’t take into account the ascent and obvs doesn’t know what surface I’m running on, so when I was doing a fair bit on the hills over Christmas it had me as getting slower.
Did the half on Sunday and all of a sudden it’s more accurate.
My Garmin Predicts:
5k: 18:48 - About 30s faster than my PB, but should be achievable
10k: 39:01 - 20s faster than my PB
Half: 1:26:18 - 50s faster than my PB
Marathon: 3:00:04 - 7m10s faster than my PB, but confident in sub 3 in 2020
Overall my Garmin predictions are pretty close
I havent really run in nearly a month (a plantar fascia issue that reared its head a couple of weeks before Malaga that I’m now trying to nip in the bud properly, rather than make it something chronic), so my race predictor has not updated so it seems. It predicts:
5k: 17:22 - exactly my pb from the summer
10k: 36:02 - 7s slower than my PB set in early Dec
Half: 1:19:38 - 3s slower than my PB set last March
Marathon: 2:46:25 - 2:00 faster than my PB set in Dec
All in all, that’s surprisingly accurate!
