Needless to say, it’s a tad optimistic

According to my 935 I can bang out a 3.23 marathon

Where are these screens?
I’ve never seen this feature

I’d never seen them before either till this conversation cropped up. Initially I looked on Garmin Connect but I couldn’t find it there.
I found it on the actual device.
In my case 920XT, menu, my stats, race predictor

4 mile run planned early doors. Got ready, headed out, took one step on to the pavement and nearly went in my arse. Sheet ice on the pavements and the road🙄

Had already agreed a gym session with the wife mid morning so I’ll go for a dreadmill run instead and forget the weights.

Nice 71 mile bike yesterday testing my stamina for the start of the year.

8000ft gained and 6h20mins.

Two loops of the Dalveen pass and the Mennock pass.

Highlight was seeing the silhouetted mountains as I rode under moonlight up and down the passes.

Learning points - second loop in daylight was scarey as I then saw the ice that I’d cycled over during the last few miles. Not rocket science really is it that after lots of rain the previous days, and a temperature hovering near to 0, then at 1500 ft it’s probably going to be a bit treachorous underwheel d’oh! Not sure how I survied but I did.

Surprisingly feel good today and no real aches and pains - maybe the smoothie the second I finished helped (org carrot, spinach, kales, cashews, hemp seeds, mixes sunflower pumpkin sesame seeds, groud flaxseed, turmeric, ginger, raspeberries, blackberries, kiwi, banana and orange juice). It’s no wonder I weight exactly the same today as I did before the bike ride!

Cardio day on day off going really well, although get slightly impatient on my off (core and strength and stretch) days.

Nice ride and a pretty awesome smoothie!

Chapeau on braving the ice. Not for me! Even the hint of ice puts me in the trainer.

rest day for me at the end of a recovery week that was 31km run and 2hr turbo. Bit of foam rolling later.

Ha thanks roscoemck, not sure it’s brave, maybe more stupid. I think that you’re just being sensible and preserving temple for this years events. Fully concur. I find that I even struggle doing 40 mins on the Wattbike, mentally for me it’s probably tougher than braving it outside, and I have to admit, I do prefer being out, even if I am freezing my nads off.

Nothing better than being out, just too risky sometimes!

I’ve been using the GCN training videos on YouTube to keep me focused on the Wattbike. They’re really good, quite tough!

I still can’t fathom how you’re doing these treadmill long runs. Granted I’m happy sitting on a wattbike (although 2.5 hours steady would get me without breaking up into intervals). But I hate treadmill running. 5 minutes feels a lifetime.
Are you doing them at work and hence can’t get outside?

Managed Bushy parkrun with 5k each way to get there and back.

And unknowingly running almost next to @Adam until he kicked on at 3k and left me! Sorry, didn’t think anyone would be at that one.

28k steps today and still got more to do! Going to put it down as long run day

Try doing Zwift run in a gym, you’ll be so frustrated and angry try to get it working and keep it working, you’ll be busy 15mins at least before you start thinking about the mill itself.

Yeah, Bushy’s always a quiet one, amazed anyone’s there really…

I don’t mind time on treadmill. I’m one of the very few at the gym that doesn’t watch tv or have music on. I do watch the Lifetime Fitness trail videos, there are about 7of them and I know them all inch by inch but I’d still rather watch that than tv on the treadmill. (ours have no sound)

Last year was 3 hours …
This years are all 30k…

I’m working 4 shifts in January.

I actually enjoy it …!?

I ran outside this week, in the rain and wind… I enjoyed that too!

I do a job that at times can be mind numbingly boring… 2.5 hours on a treadmill is nowt.

I’ve just agreed to do a 24 hour bike ride round Windsor park in October… now that’s graft…
