Training - What Training?!

That’s where we’re meant to be going.
Standard 100km loop to Bunbury.
Downhill there, tailwind back :+1:t3:

I just CBA.

Just a quick 3km run.

Get yesterdays treadmill session out of my system and test out a couple of bits of kit.

Understandable, I’m waiting for things to get lighter & I’m heading out for an easy couple of hours.

Light at 8am now, I’d call that early!

I was going to do a fairly long run but despite a decent sleep yesterday has caught up with me and I CBA to get out of bed.

Run is getting shorter

As predicted, I can barely move after yesterday’s car antics. Rest day.

I really enjoyed just spectating and supporting - a great spectator event.

With my upper body strength of a sparrow, it would take some radical changes in training to get me in shape for doing it. You on the other hand I could see it being right up your street.

An absolute money making machine as far as I could tell (having paid £10 to spectate) with about a thousand people there when we went

Had a quick chat with Mark Lewis while I was there - he was filming his wife in the ladies single event but assume he had also been participating. Nice guy.

12 x 250m with 45 secs rest between on the SkiErg.

why do I always say that I’ll take it “steady” and then balls out on the last one, when reality is near balls out on all of them?? ffs

You’re only about 100 miles away and the earth spins pretty quickly!

Anyway, I’m up and starting to feel a bit more alive so the run will happen, but not yet!

I really wanted to do it this time last year but the burpee jumps really hurt my back ( can’t get out of bed bad ) so I had to sack it off.

There making bank for sure as most events seem booked up already, I’m going to do a few sessions this month as a tester as I’d love to do one.

Thanks

3rd round of Covid, and its totally wiped me. last 2 days in bed. thought I was better, and did Parkrun which was a massive mistake.

Its very strange, first time I had covid I was almost asymptomatic, second time cough and sneeze, was incovenient, and I took a couple of days off training. This time I started to feel unwell in Tuesday and got progressively worse, and really struggling. Feeling better today, cough and sneezing almost gone, just sinuses and blocked ears.

I wonder if the seriousness is due to length of time since Vaccination

I had it this time last year and did a circuit every day, sometimes two. No symptoms at all.

Much much worse at the moment, in bed for three days now… no circuits!

You did a park run while you were still positive ?!
Lol … typo?!

Get better soon.

Tested negative, and felt good yesterday morning. So I set off 5 mins after everyone and did a solo run, kept pace very easy, however, was a big mistake as I was wiped out in the afternoon. Still testing negative so maybe it’s the after effects of Covid. I tested positive on Wednesday, so it was Covid at some point.

I don’t know how accurate the testing kits are now, how many different variants are there now?

Feeling much better and not in bed, doing some DIY and tax return.

I plan to go on the turbo tomorrow afternoon after a ( hopefully) first neg test tomorrow.

If I’m still pos I won’t bother, feel much better now.

I’ve been told there were two possibly three people in work last week who’s partners were all covid pos. They wouldn’t test for financial, ( overtime) sick monitoring, childcare … basically selfish reasons. I think I caught it there.

Apparently we are allowed out? I wouldn’t dream of it until I’m neg.

Some friends, all unwell, 3 tested positive, 2 negative - seems likely that the 2 negative were false

I felt reallty good running, HR was normal Z2 running 4:30/km, felt nice and easy. It was a couple of hours after that I was wiped out

Progressive tempo.

15 mins @ 10.5
15 mins @ 11.5
15 mins @12.5
10 mins @13
15 mins @ 10.5

Nearly died in the 10 min section and only managed 6 before feeling like I was going to croak

Still, feeling my fitness getting better and pleased with that. Managed to raise the temperature in the garage by 3 degrees during the run

9 hrs this week - happy with that after a poor one last week
