Told by the same people that reckon Yorkshire is the best place in the UK
In 2014, Yorkshire was voted the 3rd best holiday region in the world
Yup. Beaten by somewhere in Oz and India.
Yorkshire has toilets and a lack of spiders.
So obviously it wins overall.
And an ozone layer
Jaysus.
Not heard that term since the mid-90s
Managed to get out and do my first run in a few months this morning. Tried to take it very easy but probably still went too hard. 4.5miles / 9:37min/mile / 116bpm. I suspect I will need another couple of weeks with easy runs before my legs feel fine afterwards.
Other training - did a ramp test on Saturday 308W. Probably could have got a bit further if it wasnāt so hot and I used a fan but very pleased with that. And a couple more easy hour rides on Zwift.
Iām not entirely sure how Iām going to add running in at the same time as trying to improve my cycling but I have a run race in 2 months so probably ought to do some running.
Weād never heard of it until it turns out we didnāt have one. (we blamed the Kiwis instantly, of course )
nice
@toby_Hole_in_the_leg, I feel you.
7.2k run at 05:15. Humid AF.
30 minutes. 91m elevation.
Sweating like a pig during and afterwards.
I went out for 20km on the gravel bike (about 13km of it is totally off road) and dodged the storm.
Could see it from The Edge.
Looked class.
I love 20% cobbled climbs.
In 28Ā°.
With sweat blinding me.
And my hands slipping off my bars.
So much so, that I turned round and did it again
Woodbrook Road and Swiss Hill
Although, I Think I did so much climbing, I ended

Letās not mention that, I thought retirement would be easier than this ?!
30km ride home from work. Didnāt quite miss the rain.
Managed to get out for 30 mins between the thunder and lightning but whilst the rain pelted down.
Not sure Iāve ever ran in such warm rain, even abroad.
Or an alpaca. Or a guanaco. I canāt tell the difference.
I finished by swim about 7, 7:30 - it was still 25 degrees. I mean it was seriously warm
Still light and 23.5 degrees and itās 9pm
25km, MTB ride, 90 mins. First outside ride this year!
3000m (and a bit) OW swim Loch Lomond
Water pan flat and very warm
1100m to the right. 1100m back again. Then a few 100m here and there and everywhere
Crazy weather
Havenāt done anything for 3 days now. But have been super busy with a camping weekend. Today I used my lunch slot (as desperately needed to catch up on sleep) to go for a long walk with Mrs GB instead. Was very humid, so glad of it. Too many jobs etc around the house and garden so didnāt push it this eve.
Gonna get up mega early and run before work tomorrow instead. Hopefully a sea swim on Wed or Thurs then.
3 more days of mentalness before it breaks. But I expect it will be insufferably humid still afterwards
No wind is great though for the swimming
4 mile jog
Back by 7:45 but sweating
