Yesterday 1 hour slow bike up to radar. I like slow bikes small gear days, is that the lazy in me or is that the subconsciousness of preserving aged knees, hmmmmm, jury’s out.
Weight 66.8kgs, this being temp broke malarkey is excellent in terms of no alcohol or shit food as thus achieving a great weight and being awake pretty early and daytime hyperness
Dude. You spelled that correctly.
THats so not TT1.0.
It’d be “peddled”
Anyways … took a different route into Manchester on the fixie today. Horrific
Traffic lights after traffic lights and crazy pedestrians.
Much prefer the 40mph double lane A34. Feels much safer (road is wide enough for cars to pass, plus there’s a bus lane for loads of it)
Came down with a dodgy sickness virus over 10 days ago. Still feeling pretty wiped out. I was on holiday last week, I could visualise my fitness graph dropping so I went for occasional run but reduced the intensity. Back to work this week and the weather is lovely but at the same time I CBA and feel like I want to go for a sleep!
Off piste run today. Only 6.94 miles, but took 2 chuffin hours and 10 mins. Could walk quicker… oh hang on…
In my defence your honour the terrain was mostly bog and holes and bog and holes and b… and thick heather and any other excuse for me to go tentatively. Also as I never walk, I seemed to be breathing out of the when I was walking up the 1 in whatever thru thick heather.
Gym first thing.
Rowing, 3k, 0.5k.
2 sets each of donkey kicks, banded clamshells, banded bridges, sumo squats with a kettlebell, calf raises and sit ups.
On my second day of nothing. Contemplating a sea swim this evening, but not sure I cba. Been a long work day and haven’t so much as thought about what to cook for dinner yet.
In my 24 hours in Exmouth on sat/sun - my two runs along the beach, I was amazed at the number of sea swimmers knocking around, never seen so many, dry robes everywhere!
It’s all the crawling along at 10kmh from central Manchester to Parrs Wood / Cheadle
Fine at 7am going in.
Horrific leaving at 5pm
Fixed 48x17 with a pannier - I just like to cruise between the lights and try not to stop and time it right. Proper pisses off the Lycra clad light-to-light sprinters
Could’ve done with a beer at Crown & Kettle like
Looked mint everyone sat outside having a delicious IPA
Quite a strange day today
Spin first thing then straight into circuit which was quite busy
Motivated my partner to keep going several times, he said he was “ destroyed” at the end .
Pm was swimming with a guy who is determined to do an Ironman but cant swim 100 ms !
I’m hardly a swim coach but got him going with the basics and after an hour he managed 5 lengths behind me ( 100m!)
He was made up, he runs ultras so is quite fit plan to swim again.
I’m quite selfish at heart, but it’s nice to help others in sport at times.
Last 3 days have been a 10km and 8km run and a spicy CrossFit workout in Porto. Body has recovered remarkably well post TCR. My absolutely obscene appetite is gradually returning to something resembling normal. Now to throw myself into full Hyrox and run training. Will be sprinkled with some ‘leisure’ rides while the weather stays nice.
