They are a pair of carbon platey road shoes, but not as cushioned as the Nike shoes. Feel like a really hard ride. Can’t remember the exact make, have relegated them to walking about shoes.
It probably speaks more to the speed they actually work at. (plus the paid for plugs of course )
Also could be that the latest iteration is much better but I know the first one or two didn’t go down that well, or at least ’ were no better than’ (insert brand/model)
A visit to a local ish garage in between.
Possible new car ?!
Bike was mehh ish
Swim I went for it some super fast speedo tri shorts that look full gay in spin class so never get used !
3 k flat out in 55:47. Probably as calfvus mended enough to push off walks?!
My 4 th 3 k swim in 8 days … I don’t really know why?! Just enjoying it ?!
I may be being too hard on them, but they don’t seem to suit me at all. Whereas vaporfly and alphafly seem to reduce shock , these almost seem to increase it for me. At least that’s what it feels like. Guess it’s a personal thing, probably for some people they are great. When I got injured was running 50-60km per week mixing it up in these and a pair of non carbon plate Sauconies which feel fine.
ETA: that gives a CSS of 1:44/100m, which is utter poppycock, as my average pace over the whole set (and all this week) is less than that.
I’m not really trying at that pace.
Can still knock out 4 x 50m on 1:00 all at 45s.
Also do a couple of 100s at 1:35.
The point being, if you swam at 1:44 you’d be able to do more than 1500m at a time…
I used to have a CSS pace very similar to another guy, yet he was quicker than me over both the 200 and the 400 - and any session we swam. He had a relatively slow CSS because his drop-off 200 to 400 was big, while mine was virtually non-existent. When we swam sets together, I could barely hold his feet to start with, but he could barely hold mine by the end. He used to complain about being asked to swim so slow, but once he did, he could hold his pace until the end of the session.
