Training - What Training?!

1hr20mins bowling in the nets. Bowled at an England U19 guy and didnt get smacked around. Got a wicket, smashed middle stump. Next ball was a disaster.

Have a feeling Im going to ache in the morning.

Actually managed to drag my sorry ass to the gym by 7:30

Treadmill hill intervals followed by sauna and now breakfast with Mrs T.

The only downside is a day of work to look forward to due to holiday next week

Went. Out. HARD :nauseated_face::face_vomiting::nauseated_face:
Suffered.

20:53 and 10th overall and quickest jog in a year ish.

Reckon I could go sub20 by being sensible :joy::face_with_peeking_eye::woman_shrugging:t4:

Just settling in, working out who’s gonna fade and who to follow.

Does 34k steps count as training? My legs are deffo feeling it.

There used to be a nice wee gelateria over looking Ponte Vecchio. Helps with recovery apparently :yum:

Had the lurgy for a week and been hawking up rainbow coloured stuff. Apart from the Ramadan Race series park run last Monday, in which I almost murdered myself, furthest I "ran"was 2km round the block & that felt like was carrying a sack of coal.

Thankfully turned the corner today I think, just managed 6km at 7 mins/km and it didn’t feel too awful. Although left quite a few green and yellow patches on the pavement.

Busy few days coming up in the Ramadan series with a 20km time trial on Wednesday , 5km desert run on Friday and a 750m/5km open water aquathlon at the ominously named Sharq Resort on Saturday :scream:

Ideally would give that last one a miss, but it’s a 3 line whip. Team Fighting Oryx is in 2nd place after 1 out of 7 races.

I’ll just leave this little reminder to help you pace things

The usual dozen hours.
Highlights were 2 x hyrox type efforts were the run speed finally climbed above 4:25 kms.
A 56 min 3 k swim ( about as good as it gets for me)
Core / strength/ two spin classes

Today was hour bike/ hour run a session I’ve done countless times, same power / speed and one of only a few times were the av hr for the two hours was in the 130”s ( 136) so pleased
Stick at it folks

Last longish run before 100km for me and 43km for Mrs T next weekend in Chianti.

Hill repeats up and down Winter Hill for us this afternoon - covered slightly over half the distance and half the ascent of Mrs T’s race - my work here is done. By my reckoning she will have 2 or maybe 3 hours before the cut off to play with (and then come back to the finish to scoop me up from the end of my race).
