Training - What Training?!

strong stuff :muscle:t2: and great photos. That last photo looks surreal, almost like it’s AI generated and the AI had been trained on Lion King. Except with, well, dogs. Dog king.

6.7k run in 26:28 (avg 3:58/km), not the fastest route as on an undulating dirt path along a river, then back down a tarmac path. My first sub 20min 5km this year. Hamstring injury fully recovered, so can now focus on building some pace

Week in Munich zero runs - all energy for work etc…

Last week just 2 runs. However a week in northants from Friday and been out every day - 3 x 5.5 miles hilly and a 7.5 miler today

Oddly since last September my running form has
Improved dramatically- my movement. Post 2 injuries I’d been having recovery issues also, and a lot of bad gait - but I’m a lot smoother now and tbh I have no idea why. Possibly the small amount of strength work, or things have settled down. I have always had a gait from a significant hip op years ago but even that’s not snagging

Back in the swing of things, even with a torn soleus.

Yesterday, 30 minute spin class.

Today, 2 x 20 minute spin classes.

Doesn’t the spinning aggravate it?

Weirdly not at all. Literally can’t feel it.

A lovely 1530 meeting about TerraForm and IaaC saw me dashing out for a 50 min gravel ride to forget about it all :joy::woman_facepalming:

Been a busy week in the local club v club friendly Ramadan race series. Work hours get shortened during the month of Ramadan , I think 6 hours is the usual max, so everyone has more time to do stuff

Unfortunately I’m still getting over a chest bug & felt limited especially while running - couldn’t quite get the air. Didn’t seem to affect swiming or riding so much.

20km time trial on Tuesday was out and back on the Olympic Cyle Track (why called Olympic? No idea). Into a stiff headwind, at night, with lights. 20 minutes out, 12 minutes home  lots of coughing and covered in goobers by the end.

5km off road run in the desert Friday. Felt pretty grim for this one, about 22m30 sounding like a pipe organ, finished some way down the ranks.

1000m/5km aquathlon Saturday: felt a bit better, 16 minutes + 20 minutes. A close fought thing with 5 middle aged guys duking it out for 2nd place, which somehow I managed to bag behind some teenage fish 3 minutes off the front. Water temp is rising steadily and is now 23C, really nice for swimming.

The teams are neck and neck. It’s quite a cool scoring system. There are 2 teams, each has 22 members, and all members have to do all 7 races. 44 points are awarded for 1st place, 43 for 2nd and so on right down to 1 point for 44th - so everyone’s effort counrs. All good fun and the weather has been ideal for it. Just need to shake this cough.

Edit: Some of the local club members ran the afternoon races fasted since dawn :muscle:t2:

also, some photospam

11.5 hours this week !
Booo
Between a bad tummy thurs/ Fri and a really stiff back over the weekend I struggled this week.
Lots of swimming which doesn’t seem to bother it, a 21 min 5 k ( t mill) straight out of a spin class a hyrox sim with the fastest ever average run speed and some boxing.

The rest was fair to crap due to the issues already mentioned

I’ll make the 30 mins up next week!

It’s a shame you couldn’t have aligned the sock line with the grout line between the tiles, might not have spotted you

I had a good long ride in Mallorca today. Bit nippy on the tops - needed a gilet - but examining what some folks were wearing they might have been expecting a blizzard :man_shrugging:

I only took one photo. Top of the Puig. Must try harder to take some snaps.

Highlights for those who know the island: Coll de Femenia (515 m), Serra de son Torrella C (1,079 m), Coll de Sóller (497 m) and Coll d’Honor (550 m).
