Ran x3 climbed x4
My goal this week was to climb the 6c+ I’ve been working on - yesterday the whole route went so smoothly until the last hold. Dynamic move, with power scream , up to the sloper and my hand slipped off. Very frustrating as I’ve never slipped off this hold before. I was so close to climbing my first ever 6c+ and then I fell on the last hold. Got to see the positives though, I got over the crux, which was a bit of a psychological hurdle for me. It’s one of those moves where I clip the rope in afterwards, so if I fall, it’s a big one - not that falling is bad, but it does play on my mind.
Anyway here’s to another week and another attempt :crossed_fingers:

Random question. How long do we think between doing a warm up and doing the main activity can pass before the warm up no longer has any benefit.

Context is its senior training tomorrow night for cricket and selection time so I need to put a decent stint in bowling. They never do a warm up, its been argued but they just crack on. I havent been for a few weeks partly because the last time I could hardly walk for days after. Turning up cold and bowling pace isnt good.

Wonder if I did 10-15 mins on zwift and then some band work on my shoulders. Go to the ground which is about 20 mins away, bit of farting around and then into it, so probably 30 mins since I finished the warm up. Have I ā€œcooled downā€ already making it a waste of time?

10km easy trail run with the club, 1.03.

Luckily only 3 of us, so they went at my slow pace to look after my knee. It wasn’t a disaster but it’s not happy. Softly softly but I think mostly skin sensitivity/pain, rather than joint.

Hangs head in shame as the sofa won last night. Motivated myself post dinner to get out for a short run this evening.

12 weeks to Outlaw and time to put some decent hours in or else it’ll be a shitshow!

I guess your arm will be sore af either way. Bowling fast balls must be tough

To be honest the biggest trouble Ive been having is my legs. Yeah its tough on the shoulder but the sprint from standstill, leap and brace is whats killing me.

Mostly its in the quads which Im guessing is coming from the rapid deceleration.

I’m in for Outlaw too, but I’m pretty sure it’ll be a shitshow what ever I do for the next 3 months

Went for a swim, stuck a 50 ā€œall outā€ . Wish I hadnt bothered. Finished, thought I was going to have a heart attack at end , i felt really bad, and only 39secs. I was lapping 43-45 steady during parts of session. This chest sucks
Pre Covid Id hit 33.* (from dive that close if not hitting magic sub 30) , but was still steady about 43s.

So frustrating

Aren’t you about 8ft tall with size 15 feet and the wingspan to rival the Chrysler building’s height?

6ft 5, size 12 and a positive ape index yes, hence should be faster but no top end with my chest as bad as it is once the HR rises. 15 SPL when comfortable, went out to 18 on the sprint, normal, but just couldnt keep the cadence up and I really did struggle to breathe at the end, I felt really bad! I was knocking out some single length stuff on a minute holding 17 and 18 secs which is more in line with how i probably am but the HR doesnt get a chance to get too high in a 25.

I am only joshing!
Soprobec, FostAir, losing 15kg, quitting alcohol and dropping processed food has helped me massively.

Who’d have effing thunk it, eh?

Still get some mad days where I just can’t breathe or feel weirdly dizzy/light headed.
