Training - What Training?!

I think my problem is these aren’t new/short term issues.

My Achilles has been over 10 years of on/off having seen numerous specialists and spent thousands along the way.

The hip issue is 4 years now and really debilitates any form when it flares up.

I’ve had to build up from scratch over and over.
I have no goals. I barely raced even when not injured. I just enjoy running… But only when I feel I’m running.

I’ve already got slow, I don’t enjoy trying to go even slower.

In the past I’ve built up so slowly. And a few months later I’ll just start to get to a distance that feels like a workout, be doing nothing different and then something will flare up again.
I’m so so bored of it. All the enjoyment has just been sucked out of me.

Did a 10 mile to work yesterday.

Was swopping a bottle from one arm to the other about 8 miles in and somehow managed to tweak a muscle on the back on my ribs.

Little bit of panic, as a tweaked back muscle ruled me out of IM Frankfurt last year, and I’m already managing one injury.

Got a little worse during the day, so got the bus home instead of running.

Early bed and stayed in this morning for a rare rest day.
Feels a little sore still but not painful.

Hoping to be out for a 100+ miles tomorrow, so fingers crossed

A little rest will probably do you the world of good. Looking at Strava, you’ve been cranking out some big sessions over the last few weeks

Some nice wind and rain for my day off.
But fortune favours the brave …

121km on the road bike at 32.7kmh :hugs:

4km jog off at 4:11/km.

All nice and easy.

Right, where’s an event to enter …

Solid work there sunshine.

I got out for an early runch before my 1300 meeting. A nice 16km and 376m elevation with a couple of mates up on the common. Nice and steady, but was really warm and humid under the trees. Nice breeze up on the top of the common on the exposed sections though.

Even managed a good 35 mins targeted S&C this morning at 0630 as well. Feeling good today!

So that’s a nein danke.

Basically got these dates free between shows, concerts, holidays, weddings and bar mitzvah’s;

7 Sep (The Roc???)

EDIT: I thought I was tired … need to pay attention to the rolling 7 days, not just the calendar week :exploding_head::flushed:

Started using wax to lube my bike chain.
Wasn’t sure when you need to rewax.

Looking, it seems I should have done it after 300km

Might have done 2000km…

That’s good work, I normally dip my chains back in when they start to make a bit of noise
