Nah just a steady plod. It’s about 70% new routes to me, so with my history of nav there’ll be a LOT of doubling back and trying to work out where I am!
Also just planned it off Outdoor Active, OS maps, Strava and Garmin. So could be on some terrible roads/trails!
Oh boy. My enthusiasm is going to get me in trouble one of these days! Brain was cashing cheques that rhe body could barely pay - and that was dipping heavily into the savings.
Was originally thinking about doing one of our usual 50km loops. But then figured it’d been ages since I had a bit of adventure. So I looked at places I could get to on a train or bus and split a route back.
In my head 70km was barely more than 50, so it would be fine. Not really thinking that it’s actually 40% more!
Still. It was a fun day out. Some beautiful scenery but deffo too many roads. They’ve annihilated my legs and my feet aren’t doinguxh better. Think my Peg trails may have seen theirast day of action!
No I got the train to Taunton and ran home. Was looking for somewhere I could bus/train to and that fit the bill. Off work today with the kids. Got in a scrape before midnight which was my very optimistic plan.
Hit a 50km pb on the run with a 5.29.
Taunton and Honiton - both absolute dumps. But some absolutely gorgeous little villages and big farmhouses and manors and the like in between, through the Blackdown Hills.
Throat is absolutely killing. Will need to get on top of that.
Energy systems/general feel is weirdly OK, despite a terrible sleep.
Feet are battered. Peg trails have over 800kms on them now.
Legs are pretty tired but not too bad.
