I’m in Somt from tomorrow but working a lot of it, will try to get some stuff in. Then we are at Puts from Aug10 so some SWCP running and hiking on the cards.
10 weeks isn’t it?
A YouTube channel my daughter watches is doing Leadville 100 this year, with 2 months training
He’s a long history of doing physical endurance events massively under prepared and being rescued by his long suffering wife …
… I said “I could do that!” My wife doubted me and said “there’s no way you could run 100 miles” …
… which I took to mean as a challenge
Bike or run?
He ran from Taunton. He’s not that mad.
Keep Greta happy and do the UK’s equivalent of Leadville… the West Highland Way race (90 miles) or one its halves.
I’ve my eye on a local hilly ultra which is 50k… just enough to qualify as an ultra so I can tick that box and never do it again
Initially I thought you were talking about a bike ride. Madness.
Do the one at Glentress, 50k and a fair bit on tarmac, sub 5 hours fairly easy
First run in nearly two weeks.
Should have gone out earlier as probably lost about 2kg in sweat
9 run : 1 walk
HR through the roof
8.5 miles / 72 minutes
8km trail run with the club.
10.8 mile run
Feeling good other than odd back/ shoulder thing which is lingering enough to be a nuisance
Easy 7km jog.
Went west. Nice and flat.
Cheers @stenard
Going to jog up to your old golf club tomorrow
Need to start getting back to some form of running.
35 minutes nice and steady on the treadmill this morning.
Dover and Fish Hill for me this morning.
14.25km 78min 347m trail run in Next2%
Easy 8.4km jog across fields, trails and roads.
Got stuck behind some cows moving fields.
Nettle stings again
July 24
Overall
Just one of those months where ‘stuff’ fills up the spare time available to do any training.
Still, I will try to keep this update a ‘Glass Half Full’ one.
Swim – 0m
Bike – 423km
Whilst this was poor by comparison to most of 2024, it is still my 12th biggest month since 2015.
And 4,611km YTD is already bigger than my annual totals from 2009-2013 & 2015-2022.
Run - 75km
Whilst less than May & June, this still brings up my biggest three month total in years.
Helping to make my 462km YTD bigger than my annual running totals from 2010-2021.
Time – 21h 59m
Better than nothing and August is another month.
Cheers, Paul.
7 mile run
Hot and muggy evening & running on fumes
Bit of a slog
Distressingly, this is roughly a Spooner day plus a Bongo day.
Double run day today.
6km easy with my old family friend this morning and 10km this evening with my Arc mate.
