90 minutes 3x 10 minute over/unders
2km back tight but semi okay, didnt want to risk being out in a down pour
Although, that didnt happen for 50 minute so could have got a 10km in. Oh well.
I’ve still got so much to learn at the gym & here’s another thing.

Got out on the MTBs in the Quantocks with Junior #3.
Beautiful but properly wet, muddy and hilly on the Macmillan Way.
We were out for 2 hours & I got pretty cold in the last half hour. Going was super-slow on the trail with the water, mud and leaves so we hared it home on the lanes in a downpour.
Just had a long shower and and now wrapped up in a blanket with the cat on me and contemplating a tinny (me, not the cat)

Sweating absolute buckets.
Saving the legs a little as I’m off to be a middle aged raver tonight, seeing Underworld.

Got out for a walk on the edge of the moor. River was high and powerful as you’d expect with the amount of rain we’ve endured lately!
Managed to avoid the rain for 80% of the walk though.

A few patches here and there, yep! Sun beaming through the moss and trees. Was lovely, albeit not very long lasting!

Been a decent week.
Still not managed to get out for a longish ride in what seems like ages. I had that funeral on Friday, but the weather was so shit that I would have found another excuse anyway

Highlights were a couple of decent runs. One was 2*(2*1km into 4**45sec uphill sprints) & the other a 15km trail run with 1000m climb…I’ll pay for that over the next few days ![]()
Shall get along for a club swim tonight as a swim buddy has a birthday & is bringing cake ![]()

Moderate 18km (~75-80% of estimated 5km, 84% of Threshold) but with the warm-up and some strides a Half Marathon training run.

To only reason I mention it is because on the last one I caught and over took someone. I felt like a bit of a ‘dick’ to be honest, but hey, the session was the session. What do people do in a similar situation?
Another fairly poor week but got a bit of respectability today with a ride outside! Managed 71k, was a slog at times though and the longest I’ve exercised for a while.
The week wasn’t helped by being away then not knowing whether I was coming down with something, and only running 6K. Including the power hike on Monday I managed about 7.5 hours, that excludes a couple of gym sessions though.
hopefully we might start getting some better weekends for cycling!
