Went out on the bike knowing it was going to be warm and windy but the wind wasn’t too bad as it was across at times then behind for the last third due to the route I’d taken.
Really wasn’t feeling the love but managed 108k in 3:45, and rounded it up in the garage when I got home I’d been trying to get home to bring the washing in as the skies were getting dark!
The main ride was 191W apparently, but the PM won’t calibrate, that is maybe a few W up but could be accurate. Tired now.
Almost came a cropper at 40kph when a suicidal squirrel ran out, stopped, I swerved to go past on the inside and it ran across me! god know how I didn’t hit it. Was also arsehole van driver day, not to mention the pillock that overtook on a corner in a Nissan and forced a Honda to take emergency evasive action and I’m pretty sure was on the gravel at the side. Utter cretins some people.
Going to try and do a short swim soon!
Edit: managed a 20 minute swim, was quite refreshing actually.
Hope you do better than my Wednesday 275m (I didn’t get out the opposite end, that would have been a walk of shame, so I’m claiming 300m, it was probably 250m, I woke up late and needed to get to work)
5am cycle out to the Al Quadra cycle track. Bloody hot by 07:30 return!!! All on segregated cycle track. Admittedly I was weak as a kitten having done little exercise since Mallorca in April.
I decided enough was enough, not having a bike out here yet, and managed to find a 2nd hand 2023 58cm BMC SLR Shim 105 mechanical on the local equivalent of Craigslist… £1k and I can tell it’s barely been ridden. Cassette is still clean and the original tyres (25mm… how times have changed in 3 years), slightly dry rotted, still have their little knibs on. Tyres/wheels are utter , and the saddle is a torture device, but the latter will be remedied with a Selle SLR Boost offa the tat bazaar in a week.
Anyways it was lovely to be out despite being the slowest person out there. The road back to speed starts today , then I’ll find a group to join once I’ve some legs.
Managed 13 hours this week, despite being sluggish from the double header last Sunday, but almost everything was an easy pace except the parkrun.
8.5 hours was cycling which was mostly due to the long ride on Friday and topped up by another 90 minutes today.
Just over 2 hours of running including the 12K tonight which didn’t feel too bad
Also managed 90 minutes of swimming although the shoulder was a bit sore after 1.7K today, and nearly an hour on the arm cycle\rowing machines.
Quite happy with that and don’t feel too bad at the minute. Not sure what next week will bring, I don’t think the heat is going to be as bad up here and got a 25 next Saturday so might not get a big ride in.
