I didn’t know there were running badges!
Yes, courses & achievements.
Hope that hasn’t ruined your day
Let’s go with ‘no’.
You could clear 25 volcano pretty quickly…well 3 hours or so maybe?
Yeah but that’s 3hrs I wouldn’t be climbing, so will have to wait until after June.
Looks like you just bought a ticket to the 25 Alpe weekend event…
Who knew…
Agree with starting off early. My longest ride was Tiveron to Nottingham, a large part of it along the Fosse Way. This was a long time ago, but in my memory this was 200 miles although checking Google maps it might be more like 220. It was June, I started at 3am in darkness after wolfing a whole Fray Bentos pie. The stupid early start means you can get 100 miles done before stopping for a decent breakfast at around 9am and you’re half way there. The pie is not essential but tides you over…
Used the same approach more recently when going up 170 miles from Dorset to Leicester to stay with some friends. I left on a bike before 4am, wife left in the car at about 9 am, I got there first.
The main thing I learned, apart from eat a pie- if you are doing an A to B ride like that, choose a day with a tailwind. The Leicester ride had a brisk tailwind and was pure pleasure. The Nottingham ride was into a headwind and was miserable!
Is that a thing? I’m not sure how many AdZ climbs I’ve done. I would estimate 12-14 so far.
This has got me thinking. I wonder if i could convince my wife to drive to Wales with the girls the next time we go, if the car is all packed up and ready to go. Then i go and ride it.
It’s 200 odd miles in the car, so guess it’d be a bit further on the bike avoiding M5 and M4. Hmmmmm
edit … plotaroute has it at 197.5 miles!
@fruit_thief you have a lot to answer for!
Only 215km for me to get home, bit lumpy mind.
Easy day…!
hmm, the fact that I’m typing this sat on the bed and weighing up whether eating dinner is worth the pain of walking down the stairs, suggests otherwise.
8.5 mile run at 7.29 m/m, 139HR - should have reined it in a bit, hoping to get a decent outdoor ride tomorrow, oh well
2 x Lutscher climb, plus 15 mins Op Stonehench. Managed to sneak under 24 mins on the second ascent.
That’s good going. I’ve climbed that bloody thing 5 times in the last two days. All on the TT bike but the best I could muster was a low 32min.
Yeah I’m on the Tarmac Pro, which is the best climbing bike.
