I’m gonna buy that when I hit level 35. (I know I can get it now). I’m lvl 33.5 right now and currently holding 4.6m drops. It’s going to be shopping frenzy
I’ve been sat on the bed most of the afternoon, as my legs are absolutely toast. I’ve been doing the ‘one stair, both feet’ walk for a few days.
As much as I like I crazy challenge, I think I might back off a bit and get that Tron bike, whenever it comes. I need 1455 mtrs per day for 10 days but if I fall short, I need to make that up, which is hard on my old body.
I think getting the badges took some of the wind out of my sails. I know that once I have this job offer, there will be a shit load of admin to do get started and I know I’m becoming increasingly tired with each day.
I’ll knock out an AdZ climb as much as I can and go for the 25 badge but I’m not cramming it into a time goal.
Think I’m gonna this one.
I’ve got to do 35 climbs of the Alpe to get the Tron.
I’m taking my time
I’m on 33,965 mtrs I think
6.22 mile run this morning - meh
7:41 mile pace
127HR
Innsbruck short loop tonight
24.2km
220w NP
107HR
No tailwind when you have to do a loop that takes you back home again.
So tomorrow I will head out and ride until I get a bit bored, then ride home. I have made 2 routes, a 100 mile course towards the coast and back, and a 200 mile route that does a similar thing but then explores every nook and cranny of that area to get to 200 miles all in.
Elevation is 1700m, and all of that is at the beginning and at the end. Middle is pancake flat.
My guess is that will do 100 miles tomorrow, and then try for the 200 miler in a few weeks if it goes well.
that’s the one - is that the medium or large? I keep my waterproof, full toolset Inc x2 tubes and emergency Clif Shot blocs x 2. I look like I’m going on an audax but I have everything I need bar the fluid top ups
Medium - I bought it as the normal clip ones don’t fit on my TT bike, as the seat is slammed forwards.
I can fit two tubs inside, too, so that’s always a bonus for those 161km TT rides.
It zips open to expand, but I’d never thought of using it for waterproof etc.
Cheers
Having a rest day today. We might go for a walk later but I don’t count those anyway, so this week:
Bike: 392km - 20hr45
Run: 6km - 45min
Total: 21hr30
Big week…!
8359m climbing left for me (83% there).
I think my biggest ever. You’ve got two days to beat it.
You could knock that off today by Everesting.
2 x 5 hour turbos back to back has ruined me.
My mates wife is defending her Humber bridge 12 hour run title today ( virtual ) going to do a few miles with her… won’t get near you this week.
Well done!
Enjoy! One thing I don’t mind admitting is when I’m broken. I can be quite strong in some things and pretty fragile in others and these past few weeks have been tough but that was my choice of course.
If I was having one bad day I’d probably push on but I can feel the fatigue accumulating daily and now the badges are done I’m ok with backing off. (I only was getting them done because I was having a battle with an Aussie guy about who would finish first. (I did by a day, he has FULL PRL to do, probably done now).
IME, for my body, 1,200 mtrs a day is ‘ok’ but once I try to push past 13-1400 each day, it gets very hard for me. I’ve done that on various training camps but they are over in 6 days.
Bit of climbing and a lot more running from here on in and that XC bike will get a run or two.
People have gone Zwift mad!
Fair play if it helps you train and gives you motivation.
Yep I’m going to have a ten hour recovery week with three hard hours in next week.
Just to see we’re I’m at performance wise.
Three weeks and counting to a full distance “training day” no real taper but it’s still a long way ! Even at other people’s pace.
We’re still very close. I’m at 87%
Monster week
Total wash out of a week for me. I was feeling incredibly lethargic last weekend and bailed on a gravel ride with friends that I had been looking forward to all week. But I could tell my body was fighting something so I played sensible for once. Then a real easy week with really only 1 hard session where I went out hard for 20 minutes to grab a PB on a long local Strava segment (nailed that with a big 30s improvement and to go top 5). Then the fatigue hit again and I took 2 full days off.
Well, got up 4:30am, was out at 5am, and planned to ride somewhere between 100 and 200 miles. I had nothing. Legs are totally hollow. Heart rate averaged 96!!! Couldn’t push any power.
Bailed at a church about 25km from home. Ate some sandwiches I had brought. Cycled a beautiful route home (found some nice new lanes). Fell asleep for 2 hours.
Failed!
But here is my tarmac is long-day mode:
Bike looks great !
96 bpm… ?!?
Is that normal for you?
Still a long ride by most people’s standards.
Fatigue can build up over time and take longer than we imagine to dissipate.
Rest up, glad you enjoyed the route home.
