Training - What Training?!

Went for a swim…

Thought I’d see how much fitness I’d lost so just went to the trusty 100s off 1:45
Had a buddy join in for about 10 of them.
New buoyancy shorts on definitely helped

22 x 100m some of about 1:40 some off 1:45
All around 1:29-1:30
Last couple started to struggle.

1300m pull and paddles to finish.

Good stuff!

Busy at the pool this morning, but probably a good thing to keep it steady for the first one back in a while

Each rep was only 98m though

It would be (ish) if it was at David Lloyd. They seem to like building their pools at 24 metres

I got out for a nice IRL ride with my neighbour. Filthy back lanes, loads of tractors and terrible old people drivers. Was really enjoyable. Nice ego boost as well to see him struggling to hang on to me for the whole ride, despite only going steady. I couldn’t keep up with him back in May when I first got my bike.

@Poet will be sick with me though, as I’ve not had time to wash my bike. Straight inside for a shower and calls. Online parents evening, then school run and more calls.

Might just leave it outside in the rain tmw

We need to talk about those socks and the pump on your seat tube

Managed to get out for 8 mile run this morning before work. Garmin now saying my estimated 5k is slower than my actual 5k PB. Bastard.

Then at very end of day had a bonus 21k ride outdoors. With lots of lights! Enjoyed it, seeing it as active recovery and legs feeling better now than they did at 7.30 this morning.

Still not going to bother getting up early on Friday for my usual 2nd pre-work run chance of the week (I alternate with my better half) …judging by forecast could be an ice rink…

It was cold so I wore my thick hiking socks!

The pump. Its always been there. Where is it ‘supposed’ to be?

In a pocket if you’re following “the rules.”

In a seat pack if you want it out of the wind and don’t care about “the rules.”

On the frame if you don’t care about “the rules”, aero and want a pump that actually might work with freezing cold hands…:joy:

It’s hard isn’t it?
I log on when I wake up (0530-0630ish) have a coffee and wait for my wife to wake up and get ready.
Walk the dog from 0800-0845
Back working at 0900
Take a lunch
Then work until whenever.

I’ve now missed my window for exercise today.
I did run this morning :muscle:t3:

The Rules allow for a frame mounted pump.
One very specific frame mounted pump.

I’m not really a stickler for ‘the rules’ but stick that pump in your pocket!

You get a pass for the socks as it was bloody cold today. And let’s be honest you’re wearing bibs in December and covered in shit. That mud is way beyond a Belgium tan line - so top marks for that

Did not know that!

Never read them, just inferred from forums like this!

I’m fairly sure I break lots of them so it’s better I don’t know. Even though it’s tongue-in-cheek, I suspect for many it’s not!
