Finally got on the bike tonight.
Gears had been fooked for a while.
Thought I’d change the gear cable.
Lever won’t shift all the way up to release the bit on the end.
Think it’s FUBAR
Out to the cabin to grab the old turbo bike.
2 x (5 x 1 minute on / 1 minute off - 125% FTP) with 10 minutes inbetween

Never mind the second tt bike, the low average or even a different … even older computer!
No …
You notice a can of cheap ( with sugar ) red bull copy, can’t afford the original !
Then accuse me of being an alcoholic.
Tough one tomorrow !

Yes I had it a few years ago.
It wasn’t quite as sudden or excruciating as yours, that said I woke up one morning and there it was.
I had a scan which showed that the nerve/tendon was pinched (I think that I did it skiing) and then I had physio.
It did take a long time to heal and for me the solution was physio. There was one exercise, in particular, that she prescribed that involved raising your arm from down by your sides until it is at right angles to your trunk
This specific exercise probably needs a little further explanation. Let me know if you want me to explain further (its a little convoluted and I am just about to hop onto a meeting)
Brrrrr run this morning
6.36 miles
44:00 / 6:55 mile pace (second fastest at this HR)
128HR
I’m not sure where that came from today. Wasn’t “aiming” to go that fast.
I’m sure the cold helped keep my HR down.
That said, that’s now numerous 10kms with low HR under 7:00 per mile.
Do I just keep going at the minute?
Is it worth adding in one very high intensity session?
How much lower/faster can I go?
No real aches/pains
No definitive races on the horizon

I’d possibly keep going, gets you out if nothing else.

You’ve probably plateaued … ish.
But 1:30 marathon pace at sub 130 bpm is a place very very few will ever get too, even people that can run faster than you.
Depends what you want to achieve this year, and more importantly does it still make you happy/ give you purpose?
I’m sure there will be races of some description at some stage this year, if not I’ll make my own.

8 hilly miles, not much to see out there beyond 50m or so on account of being surrounded by freezing fog for the majority of the time

1.5 hour turbo
Had to drag myself in there today, I really struggle to train more than 6 days on the bounce.
Strange session, but the only thing I fancied.
5 mins warm up ( sat up)
120 mins aero, head tucked, full distance pace, 78 rpm, even put the speed sucker on so I didn’t have to move… at all
5 mins warm down ( sat up )
Think this bike can go a touch lower at the front !
Rest day tomorrow !
I was well hydrated!!!

It’s a slippery slope. How many days until your garage is turned into a full Breaking Bad meth lab?

I certainly know the right people!
But alas, too many bikes and wheels … not enough room for drug production.

Yeah I was thinking of a Zwift later, as I haven’t touched the turbo since Sunday but the garage is just too cold!
