Training - What Training?!

I’ve just tried 20 minutes very easy on Zwift, first thing I’ve done all week except walking.

Will see how the body feels tomorrow!

Still avoiding the running though.

Shame that.
My brother has been working where you like to do your trail runs this week.
Not great for him working - looked bloody ace for some fun running :snowflake::snowman_with_snow::cloud_with_snow::mountain_snow:

Legs understandably tired this morning.

A lot of Strava friends have been posting their pictures, although I think it’s a bit icy in places as well but I’d have liked the option.

Nice muddy 10km across the fields and bridleways this morning.

Doesn’t zwift just stop you moving if you take an 11% section “off”?

Snip tool.

Gone.

Club ride on Zwift, Petit Boucle.

I want to work a longer bike ride in there, just gets boring fast on dumb trainer with no measurements of where I am/what pace etc. Hopefully the weather gets better, less icy on a morning, and I can do a longer ride outside instead!

Out running this morning.

16 k ish
1 hour 30 ish
140 bpm ish
Hilly ish.

Never really got into it, felt pretty crap and yuk the whole way round … no idea why… first run for a bit, maybe a bit far?

Into the pain garage

1 hour balls to the wall, covered computer up and went as hard as I could for an hour.

15 hours this week

10 hours turbo
1 run
1 hard circuit
Rest core and weights.

Burpees are a killer.

Another run before supper.
Just an easy 7km this time.
That’s 64km for the week and feeling dandy!

Did some cycling too.
But that was indoors.

one more week at 50-60 for me, a bit of a recovery and then we enter 60km territory (and so on and so on)

Week #2/20 of training for an ironman that probably won’t happen. Been busy at work this week. Not much opportunity for long stuff. Aerobic 10km run challenge thread was my friend in the evenings. It rained a lot this week.

Mon pm run 11 mins (I know, hardly counts)
Tue am run 45 mins HR Z2
Tue pm bike 30 mins Z2
Wed pm run 49 mins Z2
Wed pm bike 30 mins Z1
Thu pm run 47 mins Z2
Fri pm run 44 mins Z2
Sat am run 55 mins Z1
Sat pm bike 80 mins Z1
Sun am run 30 mins Z1
Sun pm bike 91 mins Z3

Next week I have some clear space for some longer stuff, might stretch the bike out to 2.5 hours on Wednesday

I’m negotiating with my boss tomorrow. We have a daily stand up for SLT at 8.30 and I’m asking if I can skip the Wed edition.

If I can start early doors and get 20-22km in before work and log in a 9.15-9.30, it will go a long way to getting my weekly volume without stressing about slamming in runs between meetings every weekday.

11:40 hours for the week, 7:52 hours of zwift, 3:51 running for 51km, probably my largest week in a couple of years, and double my recent efforts, all very comfortable and I certainly feel better today than I did a week ago already, not sure how long I’ll last with this run and bike every day.
