Training - What Training?!

50 mins on the turbo this morning, zone 3 intervals.

Having nearly run into the back of one on my motorbike once, I now give all those spikey bits they drag around with them a very wide berth.

Nothing - lower back in bits - couple of dats off me thinks :flushed:

Oh do f*** off, Training Peaks
On both counts here.
I don’t need reminding it’s only 10 weeks away…I’ve only done two century rides in the past two weeks and longest run is only up to 18km :joy:

I WISH I had 10 weeks and 2 centuries in the bank :flushed:

And that week I rode 400km over five rides (3 x 100km and a couple of 50km)

You need to quit Zwift and get out IRL :+1:t3:

Just had a look at Lakesman and it’s flatAF

Mind you, the half covers 800m elevation.
My Sunday century was 900m :see_no_evil::rofl:
Great prep for Bolton, oh, and it was on a road bike.

Only done a couple of indoors in last few weeks. Getting out - just not getting far enough when I go.

Yeah did 100k last weekend on flat roads and that came in at almost 600m apparently with only 1 climb of note.
Swim distance needs to double… up to 15 miles on the run. Meh :man_shrugging:

Just head out to Duffield, via Borrowash, Spondon and Breadsall;
get yourself onto the A6 nice and early, straight up to Morrison’s roundabout at Buxton, turn around and come back

That was my route of choice, just hit some admin at Bakewell/Matlock on the way back if it’s a nice day, but that’s a good chance to have a gel/bar/drink/sit-up.

Garage at Morrison’s RAB in Buxton is perfect for a refill :+1:

This route also has the benefit of being net downhill on the return home leg

@mw22 - edited to add, not sure if you know the road, but it also has a “hill” going up from Brushfield to Taddington/Topley Pike. It’s got a crawler Lane, too (so pseudo dual carriageway, but cameras and 50mph)
Easily hit 70kmh on the bars on the return leg.
So that’s good prep for Lakesman :+1:t3:

Hmm guess that’d do it … tho not a mechanical god like you so straying a bit far from my comfort zone.
But yes - uphill the entire way pretty much!

That’s the exact route :clap:t3:
Perfect century with a little loop around the block :+1:t3:

There’s a bike shop in Matlock and Belper (both closed Sundays)

Always close to a rail station for an emergency rattler back home :+1:t3:

Runch. 50/50 trail/road. 10km, 52.06 at 5.12 pace, 90mtrs vert

I miss training, and triathlon.

There I said it.

Nowadays a half a mile walk can be too much some days! Hopefully I can get a bit fitter now that the weather is improving. Cancer treatment fatigue can be a bit annoying. But hey ho.

Focus on what you can do now, not what you used to able to do. I’ve lent that lesson but learnt it the hard way, because I was stubborn.

A little bit each day.

Your in a tough spot shit I know.

Do what you can leave what you don’t fancy, your A race is getting better.

Just had my first proper swim for over a year. 1km was a real struggle. Shoulders feeling rough.

30 mins tempo effort on the treadmill. Lot, lot harder than it should have been.

1:45 on the TT mostly in position.
Undercarriage partly destroyed… Not sure how I used to find it comfy. It’s ok till hit any bumps then it’s like taking a sledgehammer to little mw22.

Saddle shopping underway… This race is going to cost me thousands 🤦
