I drove 1.3km to the pool due to the wind and rain.
I felt bad about it
It was about the same distance to my old pool at Winchester College when we lived in town. If I went on my own, I’d walk but often my neighbour would go and insisted on driving so I’d go with her.
Zero guilt
Zone 2 on the turbo this morning, followed by some yoga.
Ramp test, FTP down 8W.
Can’t PB every time mate.
0 training over the bank holiday weekend but plenty of walking (and carrying) with the kids.
Last week = mini recovery. I’m going to ramp up this week and then mini recovery before Southport Tri on 16th May. It’s only Olympic - no need to taper!
Double session this morning due to the pool closure last night.
Still feeling a little fatigued from the 4x4x48
10 x 100m off 1:45 (first 5 about 1:31 / second 5 about 1:29)
500m pull/paddles/snorkel
500m pull/paddles
Then up to the gym for treadmill intervals
4 x 4 mins @ 10.1 mph / 2 minute recovery
I can’t find my footpod though
6 a.m. 30 minutes threshold treadmill run, all uphill.
5 p.m. 30 minute spin class.
Just smashed in a huge Victoria Sponge cake as a reward.
Heroic effort !
95 minute Zwift to round out another SBR day
229W NP / 0.69IF
Very gentle 60min Zwift before tomorrow’s first evening 10.
Good luck
There awful !
229W / 0.69IF
And here’s me playing with ~215W / 0.75IF for IMUK
I went for a run Forst use of Forerunner 45
Strava has a different summary than Garmin. Some interesting numbers in there.
Zwift TT (Bologna) tonight with my third best time apparently.
Also a swim, well I’m calling it a swim, I got wet…
Did a 20 min wu, with 10 mins @ HIM power in tt position
~40 min ITT race thing - 260w AP
35 min CD with 10 mins @ HIM power in tt position
Like @adam says, Strava is a random number generator
(Without getting into the fact there are no random number generators)
Haha.
I only jest that their power figures are always different to what my bolt and then TP states.
They must have their own algorithm for calculating NP. Or weighted power as they call it!
So 3 weeks since my knee injury returned ( only a few twinges, not a full scale MCL strain ) Its been a balancing act ever since.
Thankfully swimming and the gym opened the day after my knee started playing up, so I’ve been able to occupy myself with that, and steady sessions on the turbo.
Still doesn’t feel 100% but I’m doing ramps up to FTP and its not causing an issue.
12x100m at the pool today then straight to the gym for an hour on the bike.
Tomorrow is strength work and bike commute, then Friday will be my first run in nearly a month. Will probably do 10k easy run walk intervals.
The crowd will get you round
