Training - What Training?!

Sick :smiling_face_with_three_hearts:

Anyhoo…

…had my stitches out today, hand op wasn’t a resounding success.

Four to eight weeks of physio on it now.

Been banned from cycling, or anything that places pressure on the hand, until the finger has full mobility Again.

Fine to swim and run (muted, yay)
I reckon Zwift would transfer some vibration from the turbo (non-direct) drive, so staying away for now. I’m not dying to get back on it.

Looking forward to some easy runs and building up some run fitness for XC season.

If you wanted some ticking over low intensity exercise i’m assuming you could sit up on the bike on zwift, and just pedal at easy z1/2 level. That would keep things ticking over aerobically.

That’s a negatory.

I can only do bull bars or TT position.
Ceiling is too low to sit up :+1:t3:

When I was recovering from back 374th back surgery, I found that a beach ball inflated and rested behind that bars helped hold my body up so I could pedal with touching the bars.

Ah, just seen the bit about the height.

That’s the upstairs office.
Pain cave is in the basement.
6ft ceiling height

I think a short walk to the shops is all I’ll muster today. If I get a window I’d like an easy swim.

The doms are real today

Went out for the session that i should’ve done last night!

Ran 14km @4s, which i was hoping was going to be much friendlier than it was. Legs are still cooked after Saturday (and the previous weekend) so think they’re in need of some TLC. I got it done, but was working harder than i think i should’ve. Also stupid brand new HRM had a fit again. I’m getting pretty fed up with this Tickrx. Any more nonsense and im asking for a refund.

I think after a few decent longish runs, i stepped back and rested on my laurels somewhat. I think this has come as a timely reminder that, against my own previous benchmarks, i’m really not that trained. I think i’m definitely in the ā€˜blagging it’ territory. Still, i have a good 3 weeks to put in some work to make sure this mara isn’t just a death march

Should be able to do TT position putting almost I pressure on your hand?

Edit: ah missed the vibration part. Balance on one elbow? :grinning_face_with_smiling_eyes:

Nothing today but I have had a call from the recommended physio. He can see me Friday, so that’s a start! In the mean time I have been restricted to 2 or 3 easy runs of no more than 30mins to see if that aggravates my hip.

Just over 7hrs last week, so decent base work again. Right achilles just grumbling today, nothing too serious I suspect, but glad its a rest day.

45 minutes in the gym. 5km on the rowing machine, followed by bridges, squats, sit ups and side planks.

30 mins of S&C , mostly on the Zen8 swim trainer. Don’t know if it’ll help when I get back in the pool, but there’s no doubt its giving my pecs, lats, deltoids, and bi/triceps a damn good workout!
