I think you overtook me when I was cautiously overtaking a dog that was running a bit erratically as when I looked up I could see you running off into the distance. But yes, was an easy marathon pace for me, though got a little carried away.
Starting from next week I’m going to be heading to the track every Tuesday with the local athletics club to join their middle/long distance sessions. Aim is to get my 5k, 10k & HM PBS down over the next year, and get my 10k & HM times more in line with my 5k.
I actually know the coach as drank in the same pub as him about 7 years ago (when I played darts, badly), and said I would try and go back then, and only just now finally getting round to doing it.
My in defense, I used to commute on the day the session is on, so would have been difficult to regularly commit. So working from home has helped enable this.
A run of two half’s, this one was in miles and I messed up pacing to get to the 47:30 target first 5 k felt easy, very, the last 3 k were tough but got there 47:22.
Strange, I have a really strong upper body and core, yet I’m beyond crap at ski erg and those burpee jump things, some other stuff is going really really well.
Over 1k I’m no we’re near a 4 min ski erg, not a chance, 4:30 is doable and yet I did 12k in an hour ( 5 min per k) no problem, tough but I was always going to do it.
