Training - What Training?!

He went for a 2 hour walk with a chicken. Then they had lunch and beer?

Half chicken rotisserie with fries, a truffle sauce, fresh mayonnaise and ketchup, and the only ale available - Doom bar. At The Orange Tree. Delicious but service was poor.

Not the harshest workout of the year.

There’s a lot going on with that plate but not much of it is actual food!

45 minutes in the gym this morning.

Rowing 4k, followed by 0.5k sprint.
Then bridges, calf raises, military presses, press ups and sit ups.

Currently sat with a 3 day baby asleep in my arms. That said, she’s soiled 6 nappies since 5 am, perfect for clearing the system off pre long Sunday run in a few years.

The plus side is they get through fewer nappies as they age. Bad news is, if you think they stink now, wait until the real food starts going in. :joy:

Thanks @FatPom.

Must admit it isn’t too bad at the minute, even though Mrs. APM may disagree.

I remember the turds having quite a ā€˜sweet’ smell to them.

Mind you some of them were so explosive that we just binned the baby grow!

Anyway, went for a social ride this morning, my first in what feels like months. Absolutely loved it. The 250 watt cap definitely got flouted at times. Two coffee stops and a cake isn’t bad going for 65kms. Back home just after 9:30. Perfect šŸ¤ŒšŸ»

It’s not been a great week here. Half marathon in 3 weeks, this should have been one of my biggest volume weeks. But I just felt really stiff and slow.

Even a steady 5km round town at 6 mins per km felt hard, I was breathing as if running 4.30 pace but just not moving forward as fast

Think may have overdone it over the last month, putting out 4 * 90km ish weeks without a decent base to launch from.

Anyway, ran 6 times but mostly short and slow for 39km/ 3 hours 20. No long run, no intervals (wimped out and went for a steady run instead), no tempo.

This weekend I took pretty much completely off from training although did get up to various alternative exploits described elsewhere.

Hopefully this rest will do some good & will feel a bit more lively tomorrow.

Runalyze says 54% marathon fitness and is predicting 1h27 for the half

10km for the week plus one very painful physio session and two very painful garden DIY days.

Waiting for strength program to be emailed.

7hr 1min this week of run, bike and a bit of S&C for another solid base week.

Long run now out to 1hr 30min, which is pleasing.

Also, logged my 3000th activity on Strava today! :flushed:

My Tri club has managed to get a session at a local school pool sorted, coached by Paul Lunn who has podiumed at Kona twice, so will start swimming once a week soon, after 18 months of chlorine dodging…. that’s going to hurt!

Perhaps a few days off to recharge the batteries? I always seem to bounce back after a day or two off when feeling flat.

I whimped out of riding to work today. Had a terrible sleep last night with the heavy legs thing. So I’m just gonna drive!
