6.00km harder run, 30.55at 5.09 pace. That felt almost flat out.
I was never a mighty runner but I’ve fallen a long long way.

Just had three pints in one hour as a meeting

Bloody brilliant seeing people face to face again
Zwift Academy Tri Run Workout 1 | Strength
45mins
Av HR 163
Pace looked ok on the workout graph so I increased the bias on companion app to 105% during the warmup…bad idea this was running at tempo but with gradient changes, it spiked my HR into the 180’s during the inclined sections. Not that it means much but Garmin TE score of 5 overreaching
Well done!
It always annoys me they time their tri acamdemies for my off-season is seems
Pressed for time today. 30 minute spin class, that’s my lot.
It’s not training, but I’ve been 4 nights without a drink, and that’s a 2021 PB.
Next step add some training and clean up the diet.
Hardly cowardly at that speed !
Strewth
I may have had two full strength beers this year not sure, definitely no more than that.
I got 8hrs sleep last night. Which is of equivalent significance now to perhaps saying “I got laid” in my 20s. Although that used to happen more often I’d like to think.
Lunch time lifting and evening 7.6km run…in 59mins
I haven’t been laid OR had 8 hours sleep in years.
Well, that turned out to be stupid because despite warming up, my calf feels buggered now!
Does a sauna count?
Had hoped to get an flyer from work until someone reported a problem at 3:55! Finally escaped about 6, so mustered the motivation for another 10 flights of stairs to the top of the building.
Hopefully feel a bit more lively tomorrow.
Ha ha
That is the best post I’ve seen…. In years !
I’ve had, 6 pints tonight. Does that count? Had to pay stupid taxi in cash as well. Got drenched multiple times!
Five pints in and the 1931 train is cancelled due to flooding. FFS.
HAVE ANOTHER PINT

Manage to get home just before 9pm.
Feeling sleepy whilst watching Tinie Tempah.
Bed at 10pm. Hiccup!
Neighbours alarm starts going off at 0330, FFS.
She’s gone to work before her alarm.
Excellent.
Takes about 20 mins to go off.
Storm has now rolled in and is lashing the house.
Asleep by 5:30am, get up a bit later.
Walk the dog.
Manage to haul myself around Makuri Islands for 45mins.
Not feeling the best today
Find a gap between calls and have a nap. The joys of WFH!
I’ve made my feelings on naps known elsewhere on this forum
Calls?
What are they?
I have two, totalling 50mins per week, both are usually over in 15 minutes, too.
I had 2 x naps yesterday after my early morning exploits. But also becuase i knew i was out last night.
Woke up this morning feeling crap after 6 x pints and getting in around 11.30/12 ish. Had to cycle to work, but luckily my laziness meant i missed the latest downpour, so just had to deal with the cold. Bike ride i didn’t mind … being in work today, not a fan. So i cruised slowly in, couple of flood related detours, showered and went straight to one of the cafes for a large coffee and a bacon ciabatta. ![]()
Really, really flippin tired now. But nappin in an open plan office isn’t really the done thing.
8 mile canal run steady
Back in G and this old route feels effortless again, after the hill onslaught at my folk’s last few weeks (+ marathon) which is encouraging. Important to keep upping the ante here rather than get complacent
I worked with a chap who had 4 young kids. At lunch he used to push his keyboard forward fold his arms on his desk and rest his head on them and have a nap for an hour
