Training - What Training?!

Canned tonight’s run, just not feeling the love. The garage flood seems to have drained me entirely…unlike the garage itself.

Endless pool in there?

Funnily enough it’s the flooding that held me back from putting an order in during lockdown, now I don’t have any cash, but if the water problems on my property were ever solved…

40 min treadmill - easy. Weather awful outside.

Yoga with Adriene day 5 (ouch - not gonna lie down dog when you have had your booster really hurts)

Trying to get back to get to something resembling a programme after a few weeks of crap eating, very little training and huge apathy

Swim yesterday - 3500m, including 12 x 100m off 1:45
Zwfit last night - 67 mins Z2

Tried to run this morning. Achilles seems to be better.
Have been doing single leg calf raises with a 24kg kettlebell with no issues.

Could. Not. Run.

Legs felt heavy, hip flexors aching, HR too high for the RPE.

Was doing 9:30/0:30 run/walk but even that didn’t help.

7.3 miles / 56:42 / 7:46 pace / 130HR

Hoping it a minor blip with the HM attempt in 6 weeks

FWIW, I’ve found the exact same after a layoff, but the years of training seem to allow me to return to a sensible level of fitness much more quickly than used to be the case.

Went for a swim. Physio said swimming was good for my shoulder, but not front crawl. Resigned to breast stroke. Not easy at my size, I can kick someone two lanes away.

Anyway did a 45 min swim, felt pretty good. Threw a couple of lengths of crawl in, shoulder wasnt overly impressed so didnt push it.

Same here TBH, after any break running is a struggle for a few days. Cycling is alright, swimming WGAF :joy:

I had a very bad nights sleep, my arm was really sore from my flu jab, never had that before with the flu one (did with C19 vax). Probably not the best idea to go running last nigh but it’s done now.

I have physio tonight to get an update on my hip, so a bit od S&C today, maybe a jog later on.

A bit of light training on Sunday with the lad for our duathlons in a couple of weeks time. Then had to go to work on Sunday evening, that ended up going on so long it continued into Monday, finally got back home about 8.00pm Monday night, didn’t take long to get to sleep! Finally took Sundays training gear off this morning and got in the shower (!!!). Work will be busy this week, will have to hustle to find a couple of hours to train before the weekend. :-1:
(Maybe that should have been for the Rant thread!)

I put the P3 in the trainer, that’s about it for today. Horizontal dropouts, much swearing.

Gym strength work followed by 20 minute grind on the gym bike. Cadence 75-80rpm.

New Max HR. 170bpm. Given I spend most of my time training below 135bpm this is nose bleed territory.

I could beat that !!

But you would need to swop the 3 and and 7 about to get my heart rate average on those machines!

That’s quite impressive to be honest, at that heart rate they would be turning the lights out before I finished.

I was biking around 145 watts for that HR!

Your just fighting the heat indoors, unless you cheat and use a fan ( like these wimpy triathletes on here ) !

140 bpm on a ski erg … very little forward motion there for me son !
