It’s funny the whole climbing thing. Living in West Yorkshire I can get a flattish ride if I head East but normally any ride out is hilly and we have some really good climbs you will know the names of within riding distance. In the summer I did the Giant Lincoln sportive (which was good BTW) but the group we were in were talking about the climbing up ahead and it made me chuckle. There was a bit of short, sharp climbing but nothing sustained but if you live in Lincolnshire it constitutes a hilly sportive. The alps and Pyrenees are a different thing all together again.
Ah I’ve not ridden either of those. I would have thought Chalkpit lane must have been up there
Good reason there’s a handrail alongside!

stayed at the foot of this beauty last year, and so rode up it every day for a week… 3.7km at a rrage of 10.1% with a max of 20.5%… its a cracker!
Step up for me tonight. 12km rolling, off road, night time, new shoes. The ankle behaved itself, fingers crossed it’s OK tomorrow. Was great to get out with some friends again, and we deffo found some mud!!!
Still got this chesty cough though. Which sets my asthma off. I really need to get an inhaler before Brecon. Stillcoughing up a bit of green and brown phlegm, so something going on there. Hopefully lots of multivitamins and 2 weeks to go will fix that particular problem. Fitness on the other hand…
You nutter
Hahahaha. Love that photo!
25k of MP work for tonight. I’m now generally on the wind down with 3.5wks to go, albeit with a 20 miler on Sunday still to come (all of that is at cruise pace however).
I really hope these longer runs pay dividends. Sunday will be 5 weekends on the trot with a 20+ mile run banked.
My kind of training! Love this.
What are you training for? Apologies, but there is a lot going on in this thread.
This week, 2 1000 meter pool sessions + 2 45 minute spin classes. Small beginnings.
Hopefully a longer ride this weekend if the bike gods align.
Nothing fancy. 279w average (265 FTP). But I threw it into a normal training load and went running after.
My Garmin currently has me as “Peaking”. Just what you need in late November.
Rest day yesterday. I’m planning on 12km run and an easy 30min Zwift this evening but, work
Man, I hate work. Even when somebody else is doing it.
Film?
Nice numbers. That’s a nice position to be in at this point in the year! A really good base to build from
You are going to love all of the pies after that!
Good session Stenard, and good news GB, although I think those trainers will be nackered after standing in that bog
Jeff
Except there’s Christmas looming
I’m WFH today so they’ve been washed in the sink and are now drying out in front of the log burner!
