was half minded about running todayâŚ. Mrs MC dragged me to a garden centre first thing, and it was such a beautiful day, that I was convinced to run when we got back home
Ran out into farming country, through the fields⌠beautiful clear blue skies, stunning high clarity winter sun, crisp cold, and total silence bar bird songâŚ. didnât see another soul.
Was planning a Z2 run, but was enjoying it so much, I let the brakes off (a bit) and ran just under 7 miles at just under 8 min/miles. Bloody marvellous run⌠if only they could all be like that!
Brings me to just under 6hrs again for the weekâŚ. and 6hrs is starting to feel a lot easier, so base seems to be coming together nicely.
Went out for a ride this morning, first outdoor ride for a few weeks.
It was a beautiful morning but pretty damn cold. It was cold enough that there was quite a bit of frost/ice in the roads. I was bricking it!
Where do you draw the line on outdoor rides in the morning? All the forecasts I looked at said it wasnât below 4°c all night. I assume it must have dropped before I went out at 8.
To quote Mean Girls:
âThe limit does not existâ
I refer the gentleman to my rides over Yuletide 2020.
Iâve got no photos from the winter of 2010/11 when it was -13° and I was still commuting.
How did you stay upright?? Chapeau!
I went from dry road to ice last year and was down within seconds.
Managed to bump up the cycling to 81K this week with a couple of short routes on Zwift, 31K running including todayâs race and the club reps session on Tuesday.
Reasonably pleased as there was a fair bit of quality if not quantity. Hopefully get some easier sessions this week and got a couple of massages booked in.
Back on the 10hr weeks for the build up to the British Du champs in March. 2 hr/70km Zwift ride this afternoon watching IMSA and Red Notice and 45 run was what I needed to finish the weekend off
First long run since Portugal on Sunday, trying to keep the long runs ticking over as I remember how grim it was getting back into them last time. 21km and 4:41s which didnât feel too bad, bar the cold. Really donât think I could do a running training block over the winter. The motivation required to get out and do that kind of distance is significant compared to the summer.
Very easy 6km tester run. Achillies was simmering but a whole heap better than Friday. Got the feeling that faster or longer might have been different.
33.02 at 5.30 pace
Out and back 6k ankle tester.
Still hurts

Take it easy mate, does it hurt on the bike?
No. Just where the shoe rubs the bruise.
Zwift is crap.
Running in the cold brisk autumn-cum-winter air is amazing
I should go swimming to test it, but I go to get my swim kit and end up painting the basement at 6am before work instead.
Iâm not quite sure how it happens

No movement on my running paces but Iâm back to getting 162W for 119bpm on the bike with minimal bike training.
Meant to be running at 4.00 with LO. Seemed like a good idea this morning. brrrr
5km family night run. 32.54 at 6.43 pace,fresh!
Dammit , found my Garmin
It was down the side of the sofa
Does this mean I need to start training again after 3 weeks of nada
Is it charged, do you know where the charger is? What about the condition of the strap. You donât want to lose it, maybe order a new one.
